The Under 20s had a fantastic 36-22 win over a Saints side that contained 4 players who played in last season's Engage Super League Grand Final defeat to Leeds Rhinos at a packed Wilderspool Stadium this afternoon.

Unfortunately they lost 38-22

It was Rogues; Saints had Jamie Foster, Tommy Makinson, Lee Gaskell and Andrew Dixon all on their left hand side of the pitch but we never let them get into the game

Heard Rhys scored a belting try?

yes, Rhys Williams with an 85 metre stunner!!! He pounced on a Saints handling error on our 10 metre line and swatted off 4 defenders before outpacing the chasing pack to score

Walter, is it true that the U20's have now gone to five overage players?
Did that rule apply today?

Not gone through yet as far as I am aware Rogues; I know for a fact that we only had 2 over age today (Tyrone McCarthy and Rhys Williams)!!!

Must admit at the start of the game I thought "here we go again" as the U20s were throwing the ball around and Saints opened up a lead pouncing on some errors/sloppy play/poor defence. Fair do's to the lads though They turned it around we some good old fashioned short-pass-drive-it in rugby before opening the play up again.

Well there were at least 4 average players on the Saints side.

Were there? I thought the age was 21 and under? If so, Makinson is 20, Foster is 21, Gaskell is 21 and Dixon is 21. The rest were all younger.

That's our u20s first loss of the season. From the scoreline it would seem that our defence went to pot.

I think we was just saying the team was e in a clumsy, yet amusing, way.
