| Firstly congratulations on truly handing them their ars es yesterday. I'm not here on a "love" in just to post my thoughts.
It was brilliant to watch. Before all the little girls from their board come over and start giving abuse please note that i'm not bitter about the CC Final. I really couldnt care less if you won it or not.
Gareth Hock should receive a minimum 10 game ban IMHO. What he did was the worst form of cheating and coming from a team like Wigan it is absolutley no surprise.
Mr Lee Briers made my weekend after giving the little runt Tomkins a good "talking" to. I only wish he had smashed his face in. Regarding Tomkins how the hell did he not get sent off? He kicked the man after he had scored a try and the video ref looked at it about 4 times.
They laid on in just about EVERY single tackle and they seemed to get every decision that could possible go their way. Ryan Atkins try, Morley Cumberland throw (Not a sending off as the girls over their think it is), Sam Tomkins not getting sent off etc.
Onto the rugby now and I was so impressed with the way you guys played it was like watching Leeds under Smith. He really is a world class coach.
Ill be honest I never rated a few of your guys Atkins, Bridge, Clarke etc but Smith has really turned them or coached them into top class players.
I even dont mind Lee Briers now and coming from a Leeds fan I would say thats quite a shock.
Please keep it up next week as I couldnt possible stand it to see those cheating barsterds finish top.

| Cant believe some idiots think Morley should have been sent off. People seriously dont know what they're talking about if they think that is a red card offence.

| Cheers Mark,
Yes, we do look just like Leeds under Smith. Exciting, flowing, attacking rugby with understated brutal defence. Smith has turned around players form-wise and attitude-wise too.
Briers, although i loved him and was outstanding in many games throughout his career, was sometimes a bit frustrating and did some silly things too in the past. He's now a top professional, he's so reliable as a result of this. Confidence has shot up in players you wouldn't expect. He gives young players a chance and seems to make them feel like they're ten foot tall. Cooper and Mitchell were excellent yesterday against the champions, under other coaches they might not have been so 'full of it' (in a good way!) against a top team. I really like Smith, he talks really well and just seems like a good bloke!
I can't see Wigan being that poor again this season, but what it will do (and Leeds' good performance for an hour against them in the CC Final) will give teams a look at Wigan's weaknesses. They'll be better than yesterday but might not give teams that fear factor they would have previously.

I think thats a little unfair on you guys. You were so dominant that Wigan didnt get chance to play well. Obviously coming up against "lesser" teams Wigan will win but Warrington were outstanding yesterday and gave Wigan no room to play how they wanted. That is testament to the attitude Warrington have.
I do agree with the Briers comment. He has always had a little bit of an "attitude" which IMHO held him back alittle and now that seems to have gone under Smith he is amuch much better player for it. (God that hurts )

If we beat Hull on Friday, and I think it is a very big IF, then wigan will play Saints. Should they slip up then they're likely to come up against Leeds or Catalan before Saints again. If they turn Saints over in the first game, then they're likely to play Saints two weeks later. Even at the Piedome all of those teams would fancy their chances.
Having said that, I still think wigan will be at Old Trafford in October.

| Hull first...we can do this....comfortably
If we want to win the GF, these are the games we need to be winning
Then it'll be Hudds, who are on the wane.
Looking at the others...as Thelonius says, Worriers/Stains....hopefully, they'll beat the living pooh out of each other, one of them will then have a tough game against Cats/Leeds, and then they may play each other, again (if I've got it right). Another opportunity for them to beat the living pooh out of each other. Then (hopefully) we'll play one of them in the final.
Those intense games are coming...we MUST (and can) beat Hull on Friday

| How much of an impact do you Wire fans think the Cup Final had on the game? I must admit I had this game down as a Wire win from the moment Wigan won the semi final.

| of course it had a bit of an impact (as we'd had an extra week to prepare), but we were told many times in commentary, that Wigan turned up for training 9 a.m. Monday morning, in anticipation.
The facts remain, we scored 39 points, had a perfectly good try disallowed, and if Myler had a tiny bit more composure, he'd have taken Briers kick under the posts....for a bit of fortune, we'd have broken the 50 point barrier against the Worriers - the most famous name in Rugby League - if you didn't allready know.

| Football teams can play in midweek champions league games, and then win premiership games on the weekend.... but rugby player struggle with games 8 days later.
Doesn't say much about how mentally strong they are.

| You're not comparing like for like. Rugby is full contact smashathon. Football is 90 minutes of running about, interspersed by a bit of flouncing, handbagging and diving. I'd say recovery time for each sport is markedly different.

True but physically they should be fine after an 8 day break surely... I thought it was more mental fatigue after last week.

You cant go in with your feet mate. That is a red card.
Morley tried a Cumberland throw. Although it is "frowned" upon it is not a sending off offence.
