| Coley was again involved in a dubious round the knees twist tackle that resulted in sam moa going off like sol last week. Just been on hull
board and it mentions that sam squared up to coley on the bench obviously a bit pi$$ed off about it. Perhaps pies aren't so innocent and
TS was right to question that tackle on Sol.

| Not sure myself, thought the tackle on Sol was legit. Then again maybe if a certain player is involved in tackles that seem to leave a player with knee injuries there could be something init!!

| This one was worse than the tackle on Solo, Moa was held by two Wigan players when the Wigan player (Coley was it?) dived at his knees, but Wigan have been doing these tackles and injuring players all season, so obviously the RFL has no problem with this dubious tackling technique.

Yes, that's it.
Lima wasn't banned for that technique at all, was he?

Is that a Wigan player falling asleep in the tackle, they lay on long enough.

That was an exception to the rule... Wigan have been crippling players to long to win matches, it needs to be stopped.

| i think its fine to tackle round the legs, but i dont agree with going high and having the legs then trying to put them on their back.
if your up top, and being marched backwards, youve lost the collison. yes have someone take the legs to get them down, but dont turn them on their back. if someones wrapped around the legs and the chest and twist, obviously the whole body wont twist which causes injury. either go high or low and win the collision, or if you lose the collision go high and low to get them down, just dont think its acceptable to try to then win the collision back by risking injury to players as we have seen this week and last week.
hope this makes sense, i know what i mean anyway.

| Makes perfect sense, and the Wigan fans know its wrong.
As one of the previous posters says, lets see two players clamp Tomkins up top, then a player clamp his legs, then they all twist in different directions untill one of his joints goes..... then lets see if "injuries occur in contact sports" is the line they come out with.

Can't have caused too severe an injury if he was able to try to instigate a fight. Move along, nothing to see.

| nowt wrong with their tackling as far as I could see.
They mess about at the ruck like no other team which is quite annoying. and off side and Standing square just doenst apply to them which again is annoying.
the "ridiculous play the ball gift of a try" was outrageous not for its bad pass which gifted Wigan 6 points but the fact that the two Wigan markers had a yard in between them at the play ball and were as side by side as two Human beings possibly could be.....
Hull lost that game through their own errors the win was there for the taking

| Seem to remember Sam Tompkins doing it to Kieran Cunningham last season diving at the knees so it's something that's not new but is trained into the Wigan players as part of their tackling technique and should be banned ! The RFL should act before a player loses his career over this sort of technique !

| Look, it's clear that Wigan push the boundaries of the rules, pretty much every time they take to the field, both in defence and at times I feel when they have the ball but they aren't going to change now when it's delivering silverware and ultimately that's what it all comes down to.
The good thing is, when Fadge is gone, Wane is clearly a dunce.

| I've no problem when they do it legally hitting the thigh/hip/stomach and driving through the tackle forcing the player backwards - Liam Farrell did this very well as 3rd man in I noticed, good, fair technique. It's when the initial impact is on the knee joint with all the weight is going down causing almost instant (and severe) injury. Ban Coley for at least 4 weeks for that, nothing but intent to injure Moa IMO.
And I don't wish injury on any player but it doesn't seem anything or anyone will stop Wigan with this poor technique until unfortunately someone does it to one of their key players in Tomkins or Lockers.
