What's the situation with Winwick Road round Longford island at weekends please? I know it is a pain during the week but wondered if it is any better at weekends. Cheers

Is there any junction in Warrington that works well?. From my experience they work terribly and cause more problems.

Just keep the roundabouts, plus don't put traffic lights on them. This new junction is just an absolute waste of public money (£2.7 Million), that could have been spent elsewhere.

Roundabouts only work up to a certain capacity, after that they are an absolute nightmare, that's usually why major roundabouts have traffic lights.

Main problem with roundabouts is that lots of halfwits, usually female or elderly, haven't the foggiest how to negotiate one properly.....Witness the absolute mayhem at traffic light-managed roundabouts when those lights are occasionally out of order....

I'd love to see, especially working in this area a system similar to America when approaching traffic lights.

You're able to treat a red light as a stop and give way and [in USA] turn right, left in this country, it would help speed up traffic and keeping the queues at lights smaller.

Poor light phasing is a real bugbear of mine.

On Dial Street the lights there just after Porters Ale House were causing problems for months, and the traffic would just build up. Finally they sorted them.

The roundabout at Cockhedge is an absolute disgrace. In fact, the only bigger disgrace than that roundabout is postmen delivering my mail post 2pm!

Warrington is a joy to drive in, try West London or Palmers Green.

Leave M6 at junction 21 and follow A57.
That way, You'll avoid the Winwick Road/Long Lane roundabout.

They have a history of cocking up the roads, asda Westbrook being one.

Biggest c0ck up in the history of traffic management.

The traffic chaos on Winwick Road must be putting off the Wigan fans, plenty left in the West Stand.

Understandable, adding to what is already a nightmare journey.
