| All contracts are up for renewal at the end of this Season so who is going to get rights
Sky contract with Superleague is up
BBC with Challenge cup is up
And engage arent sponsoring Superleague
To me it seems like this could be make or break for our wonderful game i just hope that whoever gets the TV rights and sponsorship pump some money into our beloved sport and also care about the game.
I cant see sky not renewing superleague to me the only up in the air is the challenge cup!
What do you think????

| BBC will keep the challenge cup
ESPN will be involved in SuperLeague although this may be on a limit game in conjunction with Sky basis.
Stobarts heavily rumoured to be thinking of taking over SuperLeague sponsorship.

| Sky will keep all the SL games, ESPN haven't expressed any interest have they? I'd be amazed if the deal wasn't significantly reduced. There is no reason for them to pay more.
BBC will keep the Challenge Cup rights by default as no one else will be interested.

| hope ESPN dont get it as extra subscription costs but if they put bids in might make sky up theirs and end up more money coming into the sport but it is also good to see that other companies are getting interested shows how much our sport is progressing

| We need a bigger TV deal or else the NRL will move even further ahead with their massive new TV deal almost done (1 billion dollars I believe). Also to keep Union vultures away.
RL gets more viewers than RU at club level so we should rightly get a bigger deal.

| Apart from big events in other sports (union internationals, big cricket matches etc) rugby league is the second highest viewed sport on the channel after football

| Soccer and Formula 1 get megabucks, Union internationals probably next, then Wimbledon tennis ( but that lasts just a fortnight ). After that RL enjoys good viewing figures compared to other sports, so no way should the fee for the next period go down. If ESPN are interested that's good news for the price.

| We need a huge increase if Super league is going to compete with the NRL and RU.

| ims, Sky have got a court date with a Portsmouth pub landlady regarding the issue of screening premiership games. She gets her feed from abroad, as do most pubs in Warrington!!
Point is, if Sky lose this case, then they will lose a lot of business from pubs. (about £900/ month I believe. Ergo, more money available for other sports. Hopefully the RFL will have some backbone and demand a decent package from Sky.
To get around paying for Sky, there are numerous internet feeds, or watch it in the Marquis complete with Norwegian commentary no less!!!

Don't ESPN show a lot of RU games? I imagine that Sky will stick to SuperLeague and BBC will keep the Challenge Cup. Premier Sports show NRL games so could possibly show a few UK RL games?
