According to the guardian it looks like Mathers is a doubt (shoulder & hand) with Smithy saying that Blythe will definately play.
That would mean Riley or Hicks to FB with King to the wing.
Wonder if he will rest anyone else?

I wonder why he is bringing Blythe in? If Mathers is injured then surely Rhys Williams could fill the space left on the wing caused by Riley or Hicks moving to full-back. Then King and Atkins could stay in the centre positions instead of putting Blythe in there and having more of a shift around.
That would be my solution but I'm sure Tony knows best! |

I said before Catalans in the league & say it now, we should not be resting people for matches, it risks being caught out as we were in France.

Why not like for like and bring in Rhys Evans, then we keep Hicksy and Riley on the wings and still maintain there attacking attributes.

Would play Rhys Evans or Rhys Williams before Matty Blythe imo. Rhys Evans is going to be a quality player no doubt about that.

We have less reason not to rest now with the shield gone and a Final on the way if Smith thinks they need a rest then I trust him at the end of the day in the league we are playing for either a game against Saints at the HJ or KR. |

i would rather see Williams play on the wing and Riley move to full-back!! But i trust Tony and his decision is what counts he must think that the team will be strongest with Blythe!!

Blythe has played very well for Leigh this season - and the Championship is far tougher than the U20's. He's earned a run-out at this time of the season

To be honest the few Leigh games i have watched on sky, he is not outstanding. I fully expect him to go to Leigh in the off season given that his contract is up this season.
He doesn't look to be superleague standard & if he stays with us will be blocking the path of Rhys Evans coming through. |
