| and wow! what a game it was, full of everything you'd want from a game of rugby league. I'd say overall it was a better game than the loss to Wigan earlier in the season. Brilliant, brilliant game and we should have won it, but still as Benny said in his post-match interview, "we'll get them in a final".

| as many people said last night, my feelings are still the same and i believe that for once...rather than us holding on for the win, it was them scrambling as we pressured them into a panic! just never managed to snatch it! very unfortunate!

Lol Been saying it all season That we'll either beat you in a final or in a final eliminator at knowsley road closing the place down for good with our first win there since the year dot ... I'll take Wembley first though, that should wipe away 41 games of misery lol.

| yep, just watched it on sky+, couldn't face it last night! we forced the ball causing silly errors on first and 2nd tackles, saints just held their composure better, held down in the tackle longer and managed to play the ball quicker at the play off the ball.
a draw would have been a fair result, my heart goes out to benny "hesford" westwood, he played out of his skin only to miss that last kick....
gutted!

| Re-watching the match just confirmed what I thought; Jon Clarke made an excellent contribution and looked quick and sharp with some great decision making. Interesting.

| Clarke was a real positive, i was however very disapointed with Myler, can see why TS left him out of the internationals last season, he is miles behind Tompkins, Eastmond, Burrows and Mcquire.

| I personally thought we were the better side throughout. All of, or at lease most of, Saints point came off the back of penalties and Monaghans brain fart gifted them another.
Having said that, we dominated the possession, field position and if we'd have switched on 5 or 10 mins earlier in the second half i reckon we'd have scored at least another 2. In the last 10 mins we were breaking their line for fun.........just a shame we couldn't quite convert it to points.
Having said that, Saints now have a real reason to fear us. We are a lot closer to them than we ever have been and there really is nothing seperating the top three.

| I just watched it again too and think we played far better than I thought we had. Many positives.
Monas mistake I reckon was down to the knock he took earlier - the lad just doesn't know when to give in does he? He looked dazed throughout but wouldn't let the physio anywhere near him. Proper tough nut he is.
As for Myler I think it is wrong to compare him to Eastmond/Tomkins. He is a totally different half back. His defence was superb for the most part on Saturday and his support play just as good. This is why he works well with Briers who likes to hold onto the play making.
Onwards to the semis I say.

| Blew it, simple as.
Looking back at it we bombed so many chances we should’ve easily won, and yet again a hit and miss kicker misses a vital kick, can’t bag him though coz Westwood was the best on the field by a country mile.
The hoodoo continues though because clear, concise thinking on display against every other team, including Pies, goes completely out of the window against Saints.
Any other game and Hicks would’ve had 3 tries instead of the ball being passed into touch. Foster’s 2nd try (Wilkin offside by the way), would never have happened coz somebody would’ve belted it down field on the 5th.
Matt King may as well have had butter on his hands. I’d like to think these things would rectified, but the one thing I have learnt in all the despair of these games, that as soon as we see that Red V clear and concise thinking seems to go out of the window

| If anything Matt King tried too hard and paid the consequences. TS talks a lot about playing with composure, with
a bit more we would have converted some of those chances we squandered. Great game though. Benny Westwood, my man of steel. Pat Richards - bo%%ocks!! Benny plays 80 minutes in the middle and kicks the goals
and scores the tries. Fantastic display from a fabulous player.

I agree we did blow it and I saw nothing to make me think we won't blow it again next time we meet. It was very dissapointing to see Saints adopt a very simple tactic of having Wellens on Graham's shoulder breaking through the centre of the field with relative ease at least 3 or 4 times. Their try direct from the scrum was shocking defence. They also created overlaps in the first half with ease on their right wing.
We are looking at 3 wins from 6 now. Hope the wheels havent come off.
