Does anyone know if the stadium is far from the train station?

Is anyone travelling on the train next week for the game?

IIRC from our visit to Widnes last season it's about a 20-minute walk from the Station to the Halton Stadium.

No trains back after the game apparently.

Surely that can't be right?

There is a regular service from Widnes to Warrington Central even on a Sunday.
(Two an hour until approaching 10pm on Sundays).

Just looked on the net and there is a train out from central station at 13-58,then one back at 17-53. My mate told me there were no trains back,he was obviously wrong!

are most people going to get train around 2? as i dont fancy being squashed on it so im after getting an erlier 1 but not to early dont wanna be stuck in widnes well before the ground opens lol btw is it easy to find the ground from the station? *ive never been on the train*

10 mins walk, out the station walk to the end of the road, keep walking down alongside victoria park, keep walking down the main road and youll be able to see the stadium behind the housing estates

It's about a mile.

I am hoping to get a train about lunch time. Gives me plenty of time to find it, get a few drinks and hopefully find something to eat. I don't intend on paying a fiver on a burger again this year from one of those stalls outside the ground.

It's a doddle to find the ground from the station. Just walk out and straight down the road, following the crowd.

I'll be on the 13.38 from Piccadilly which is due in at 14.06 so should stop at Warrington about twoish.

There's a pub called The Crown on the road down from the station, decent food in there

Is that the small one on the cross roads with the beer garden that we kind of adopted last year and put the flags up?
