| Noticed in RL Express that the club (Warrington Sports Holdings) posted a profit for 2009.
Big change from 2008 in that turnover was up something like 20% and a loss of circa £300k in 2008 converted into a profit (around £30k) for 2009. Not a bad effort in the middle of the worldwide recession especially with a drop in average attendance (I think).

| Nothing to do with winning the cup then?
Sales of Wembley merchandise before and after the final as well as normal Canterbury shirt sales, increase in season ticket sales before New Year via Early Bird offer. I'm expecting a loss for this year if we don't make Wembley or the Grand Final.
But then again, I'm no financial expert.

| Great effort! Wembley is a massive boost to turnover, but still turning a profit in this climate is brilliant for any club

| Just think if we didn't have King, Monas, Myler and Atkins we'd have posted 6 figure profits

That is great news. I'd love to see how many other pro SL (or other pro UK sporting organisations save for Man Utd) posted a black figure in FYE 2009/10. We should be in clover for FYE 10/11 even without a Wembley/OT trip based on attendances so far.
On the balance sheet we are probably the 4th strongest in SL after Leeds, Wigan and Hull FC.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

I'm as thick as a whale omlette when it comes to accounting but would the balance sheet take into account the value of the respective stadiums?

| What happened to the Inland Revenue winding us up because we couldn't afford our tax bill hence we had to sell Martin Gleeson?

| From the Liverpool Daily Post rlChallenge Cup triumph puts Warrington Wolves into profitrl
Quote: "
WARRINGTON WOLVES has followed up its Challenge Cup triumph last summer with something almost as rare – a profit.
The Super League club’s victory at Wembley, its first major trophy since 1974, was a major factor in a 19% increase in Warrington Sports Holdings’ turnover, to £5.74m...'"

currently trying to wind up sheffield wednesday, who despite being 28 mill in debt, cover all their debts(PAYE AND VAT) but the co-op bank encouraged them to test the water and not pay it on time this past couple of months, cue inland revenue being reet ed off, football clubs ain't getting any slack anymore.

Just to clarify, our figures are for year ending November 2009, rather than FYE 09/10.

| Bigger revenue from cc, no Myler + Atkins transfer fees, increase in attendances, could be looking at well over half a million profit for this year.

| Our chairman said that winning/getting to the CC final is worth a million pound to the club.
