| It seems opposition fans and the media alike are now all saying the same thing about Warrington since Friday defeat to Leeds.
Are Warrington true title contenders given they have lost now to Wigan, Saints and Leeds??
Well, is everyone forgetting Wigans dismal 2nd half performance against Bradford a few weeks back? Are they also forgetting Wigans loss to, near bottom, Harlequins a week or so back? Are they also forgetting Leeds horrific start to this season which, despite their win over us, still only has them in 7th in the league? And are they also forgetting that Saints have also just lost to Salford who are 12th in the league currently?
Why can Leeds, Saints and Wigan all have below par peformances, against less able sides than the ones we've been beaten by, and no-one question their title credentials?
We, currently, have the joint best points scored record, the 3rd best points conceeded record and the joint best points difference record!!
So why dont all you media types and opposition fans look at the league positions currently, look at the facts, and tell me who the real title contenders are at this stage!!! Half way through the season and we are 2nd, yes 2nd, in the league!! Now back off and let us get on with the business end of the season like we want to!!

Well said.
As i have said previously you don't get more points for beating the big boys. Id rather lose to Leeds than the likes of Quins. (no disrespect to Quins).
We just need to regain the consistency we have shown and get back to winning ways - the table will take care of itself.

Leeds struggled with many injuries early doors but once Leeds get everyone on the park they are extremely difficult to beat. Why would they be written off when they clearly didn't have their full team on the park?
Even on Friday where you were missing Monaghan and Myler Leeds were still missing Burrow, Ali, Donald then lost Peacock after 7 minutes. That's why Leeds wont be written off after a few defeats.

| I was saying similar on Friday night tbh, though. There is no need to panic, the season is a long way from over and a top 3/4 finish will be a great advantage going into the Play Offs, but if we are to be true title contenders and take the step up from the also-rans to the winners' enclosure, we need to be seeing off those types of matches. We were camped on Leeds' try line for ages in the first half and didn't see off many chances. Leeds had two chances worthy of the name in the first half and took them both. Second half, we would work into good position, then balls up, gift Leeds the ball and at times, they'd break away down into our half and easily clear their danger zone.

They have looked at the facts. The fact that everytime you play a decent side who has title aspirations you get your @rses handed to you. Thats why your not serious contenders.

It's very hard for other side's fans, media and the general RL world to take us seriously as title contenders when even our own coach is not sure.

Because the likes of Saints and Leeds have nothing to prove as far as title credentials go having been their, seen it and done it on several occasions. Were a team thats trying to establish ourselves as serious title contenders, its natural that the press and other pundits will continue to question our title aspirations if we havn`t beaten any of the top sides this year that will fight it out for the silverware.
Personally i still think were a little short, were not too far off but were heavily reliant on Monaghan and Briers. If we lose either of those 2 players for the big games then we won`t be the same kind of threat that were capable of when their both on the pitch, Monaghan is such an influence on the first 4 tackles then Lee Briers takes over at the back end with his craft with ball in hand and his kicking.
I feel we need more of a threat from 1 and 13 to be considered in the same mould as the Leeds and Saints sides of recent times and a bit more pace and skill in the back row, were not too far away especially with Hodgson coming next year but you just feel something is still missing to say "Yeh, were the real deal".
Were a fantastic side to watch at full strength but an injury to either Briers or Monaghan seems to take the edge off us in the big games, we need some pivot players to come through from the youngsters to give us more strength in depth especially at half back because neither Simon Grix or Vinnie Anderson is the answer if one of our half backs gets an injury.

| Its a fair observation, we aren't title contenders.
Remember this time last year when Huddersfield were riding high, what would we have said about them being "title contenders"?
My two predictions for the rest of the season:
- Wigan won't win Super League
- Warrington will get knocked out of the playoffs by either Saints or Leeds
