Should Hodgson have played today? Personally I don't think he should have. It was great that he gave us the thumbs up behind his back, but it must have been very difficult for him playing against a team he is going to join!

But was he garbage because he's coming to us? As a professional he should have given his all for Huddersfield today, but I'm not convinced he did!

To be fair to Hodgson, Warrington were near perfect today and he was playing behind a shocking Giants outfit. When it came down to one of the most important things a fullback as an individual is there for, diffusing bombs... I thought it was quite telling. Hodgson took two very high pressure ones from the Wolves superb kicking game and follow up defence. Mathers was given a bomb with absolutely no pressure and he looked too scared to go near it! Hodgson would have had a nice easy afternoon playing behind the guys Mathers was too!

Not fit IMO

Shouldn't have played today IMO. You could tell early on that he wasn't fit for todays game. Since the news about Hodgson move to the Wire broke, Mathers appears to have upped his game. If he can continue his form it is going to be a hard decision to release him at the end of the season.

Not sure on that to be honest. I think were not giving ourselves enough credit. Normally Hodgeson has time to collect a deep pass and run towards the opposition as we have seen so many times. However our kick and chase was fantastic and every Huddersfield play the ball was harassed by Monas, Super Benny Westwood and the likes. To his credit, I thought Mathers was outstanding in opposition.

It's already been stated that Hodgson won't play every game next year (can't be bothered to find a link, but Smith did say it), and nowhere has anyone at the club mentioned that Mathers is leaving, so we may well have both for next year, no?

I think Mathers might end up staying...if we can afford it. He will learn alot from Hodgson if he does stay.

Rubbish post. That one bomb that Mathers missed caught the wind. Hodgson was directly responsible for 3 Wire tries and clearly wasn't fit. Mathers was superb today and should be given another contract.
