| Not a whinge as I think we got beat by a better side, it's forgotten & on to next week.
But one thing got my attention .. Saints have a countdown clock, same as us. On every occasion we scored the clock was stopped between the try and the re-start. When Saints scored, on every occasion the clock continued. This was especially obvious with the last crucial try that was scored with 17 minutes to go & the re-start was with 12 to go.
what's the ruling regarding time keeping for this ?

Not sure that's true tbh mate. Was keeping a very close eye on that clock, and 5 minutes definitely didn't pass for any try.
I believe the rule is that after 1 minute the ref stops the clock if the kick hasn't been taken, until the kick is taken.

| I think the clock is only stopped if the wind blows the ball of the kicking tee or the player is seen to be time wasting, not sure if there is a set amount of time though, The clock is also stopped if one team forms a scrum and the other team are not ready.

| There is a timekeeper from each club who should agree on such matters - of course based on the ref's signals.

The clock is stopped if the conversion isn't taken a minute after the try has been scored.
Also the clock is stopped when the scrum is formed by one of the teams, i mean fully formed not like having four in a sscrum which happened last night. IMO this rule should state that whoever forms the scrum should stay in that position.

| That definitely didn't happen. As mentioned there are rules for when the ref stops the clock. If the clock didn't stop for Saints it was because Eastmond didn't take a minute with the kick.
The 17 to 12 thing didn't happen either. It might have seemed like it but it didn't.

Happens in the NRL but not in Super League.
There were no issues with the clock last night. Eastmond took his kicks quicker than either of our kickers.

| IMO I think the clock should be stoped when a try is scored and only restarted when the ball is kicked for the restart. Think it would save all the childish throwing the ball away and taking the pssshhh when adding the 2

The RFL have taken over all the timekeeping at the various clubs now so we are no longer in control of our own damn clock. They have placed the new clock where most of the Saints fans can't see it, near the press gantry (above the pop side). The only way we in the pop side know where we are at is by keeping a close eye on our own watches and waiting for the countdown from the seated stand! That was very nervewracking last night!

That cant and wont happen if it did the conversion couldn't be counted as it would not be part of the game.

TV gantry I believe, which is daft. What was wrong with keeping the one on the scoreboard?

RFL have signed a deal with a clock makers, which means the name of the manufacturer has to be on the new clock. Hence the new clocks at every ground. Of course, they're only used when there is not a Sky game at the ground.
