Myler will be a Wire when the squad starts to get together for pre-season training late this year (the start of NEXT season). If I was your mate I would be quoting the initial England train on squad (the RFL version of) which lists Richard Myler as a Salford City Reds player.

You my friend are going to need a solicitor to win this one. By definition he is a Warrington Player having signed. However, its for the 2010 season. You can try and worm out of it by the rules of the bet not being fully explained or you can stop being a tight Ar%e and pay up.

This is where the issue is as you've made a bet with a "wooly" statement. Reading that at face value I would say that you have won the bet as the signing was announced before the end of the season.

Others will take "be a warrington player" differently but I think you both know what you meant and he is trying to get out of it.

I had a bet with a Wakey fan that we would finish higher than them. I paid out after it became mathematically impossible for us to finish above them in the regular season. There was an argument in the back of my head that there was a final table after the grand final, in which case had we made the playoffs we could still have finished higher. Again, even though we didn't expressley say it, it was implied that it was "end of regular season."

Myler could have played for salford the week after the press conference, as could solomona and as did atkins(twice).

They ain't ours yet.

As i said t'other week, it was a weird thing to do to hold a press day like that when we're announcing transfers that are occuring later in the year, not straight away and it's not like signing an uncontracted player, well, in solomona's case it is, but not the other two.

All depends on what you definitions were at the time of the bet. I think you should both agree to a "no bet" due to lack of clear definitions.
