I know the Official Coaches are Alcohol free, but I have just been told that it is now unlawful to have alcohol on any Coach or Mini Bus travelling to a sporting event and has been that way for a few years!

Does anyone know if this is true?

I actually thought the law stated 'Football Matches'

Unless your stevo and which it's only soccer ball.

In fairness, it states 'major' sporting events - I count this as just another game in the season

Regulations - Alcohol on Buses/Coaches

Under Regulations 51(1)(k) of the Public Service Vehicles Regulations (NI) 1985 No. 123, as inserted by Regulation 47(13)(a) of the Public Service Vehicles (Amendment) Regulations (NI) 1990 No. 201, while a public service vehicle is standing, plying or carrying passengers for hire a passenger shall not consume alcohol.

Office lead)
• licensing the consumption of alcohol at sports grounds (Department for
Culture, Media and Sport policy lead)
The public order provisions of the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act
1985 prevent: -
• the consumption of alcohol within view of the playing area (not within the
ground)
• a person who is drunk entering a football ground whilst a designated football
match is taking place
• the consumption of alcohol on certain coaches, trains and motor vehicles
travelling to a designated football match
• the possession of fireworks, flares or similar

Oh ignore me. Just starting my 7 day giddy countdown. 19 freaking years since the last time and I am hiring a mini bus from the same company (hopefully not the same bus!!) with most of the same people on it, although all are older (obviously), most are fatter, none are wiser and most have less hair (and that's just the women)
