I appreciate this site is for rugby league, however, this is sport and by looking at a few of the regulars on this site, there are a lot of Liverpool fans who post on here.
Please think of the people who went to watch a sporting event and never returned.
I was sat in the lounge watching the events unfold as a 16 year old lad in shock, where were you at this time? And what was you doing?
LEST WE FORGET 96

I was at Villa Park for the blues semi that day against Norwich. I remember panic and people trying to find public phones to find out what was happening.

Awful time all round.

RIP the 96.

out of all the major events that people say "you always remember where you were when such and such happened"
this is THE only event that I can still recall exactly where I was at the time, and what I did, and what was said as the events unfolded."

is it too much to ask that some people just hold their hands up and say Sorry we got it wrong and it cost lives.....

JFT 96, YNWA.

Proud of the boys tonight as well, fitting tribute, shame about the result.

Never give up.

Shankly said football was more important than life and death but it's times like these that you realise, it's not.

Terrible disaster, R.I.P. to the 96 that died.

Great performance tonight which I am sure they would have been proud of.

Sat in front of the box as a 13 year old watching the events unfold, didn't really understand the magnitude of what went on until we watched the news later.

A very sad scene to watch unfold

The working classes who populate the terraces of sporting stadia up and down this country are a sort of unspoken band of brothers and sisters.

We must never forget our fallen brothers and sisters and while we try to move on and look forward, it is also important to remember those who were caught up in this tragedy.
My Grandad was a Liverpool fan and I suppose it was the grace of God that he couldn't go to the semi final that day, or I could have been deprived of the honour of knowing him.

RIP those that have fallen and let us not allow anything similar to happen again.

i was on Bennetts rec watching Padgate St Oswalds footy team a a 14 year old and i remember a guy with a wireless saying to someone that the game had been caled off due to crowd trouble. I ran all the way home to near Woolston High School where i turned on Grandstand and then was faced with the reality of what had happened. My Mum was in tears and all i could think about was one of my mates dad's who went to every game. I ran across the road to find that family in tears, as there were no mobiles in them days they had heard nothing. Suddenly the phone went and it was Alan my friends dad, he was safe, his family was lucky. I still remember Alan coming home after the rescheduled game at Old Trafford and being very somber although we had just won, he was never the same for years. I can't start to think what it must be like for families and friends of people who lost loved ones in the tragedy. I shall take myself out of my workplace at 15.06 and pray for the 96. I think it was that day that i realised that they world can be a nasty place.

I too was at Bennett Rec that day watching Woolston Rovers and I can vividly remember going into the clubhouse and seeing the awful scenes on the television.

It is a disgrace that nobody has been held accountable for this awful tragedy, I don't know how those responsible have been able to sleep since and the LIES that were spouted by a certain newspaper were absolutley disgusting and to this day they have never had the balls to apologise.

I will be at Anfield this afternoon to pay my respects to the 96.

RIP

YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE
