That was something that stuck with me tbh. I remember vividly chanting his name on the Fletch - he even had two chants in his honour - then hearing that. Shocked wasn't the word, I tell thee.

There's different levels of respect. Players have to earn the right to be regarded as club legends but they should be automatically be granted the right to not be verbally abused by people. What sort of chav society do we live in today.

although i don't condone abuse matt king wasn't singled out until the gesture one so called fan made a comment to him the rest where heckling the entire team once kingy made the 5 knuckle shuffle gesture thats when the fans all turned on him

Absolutely disgraceful I agree. I also seem to remember a certain John Stankovic getting abuse in Mr Smiths from an orate Wire fan refering to him as John Stinkybitch all night. The man quite rightly got annoyed to the point where he grabbed the fan. Thankfully it went no further.
