I think the majority of Warrington fans know whats wrong with this club but do our board ? Do we have anyone on our board that understands the modern game from both a playing and business point of view ?

Some may say that we do have people on our board that understand the business side of things but thats something i would question, did it make good business sense to offer Paul Cullen a new 2 year deal on the back of achieving mediocrity ? Did it make good business sense to sanction a new deal for Stuart Reardon on the back of some very average performances along with his ongoing injury problems.

Did it make good business sense to offer Jon Clarke a new 4 year deal, its not the point that he got a new deal albeit my own view is that he is Mr Average, the point is the length of his new contract that he was awarded, he`s no Cameron Smith and its not like we had to tie him up on a 4 year deal to stop any other top clubs enquiring about him as we would be waiting for an eternity for that to happen.

Was it also wise for the board to offer a rookie coach the job after Paul Cullen left, the same rookie coach that played a big part in a SL team being relegated and the same rookie coach that failed to act in a responsibe way when some Salford fans questioned their teams performance away in Catalan ?

This can`t go on for a day longer in my opinion, James Lowes if he had any decency would do the right thing and offer the board his resignation but we all know that isn`t going to happen as he will hide behind the line "I`m not a quitter and ive never shirked away from a challenge" which seems to be the standard line for any coach under pressure, if he resigns then its no pay off and he comes across to me as the type that won`t do whats best for the club.

In my opinion these are the things that need to happen for us to move forward.

1. A complete shake up of the board, we need a mixture of people that understand the modern game, directors that have an impeccable business record in this sort of area, and people that are not affraid to make ruthless, tough decisions.

2. A head coach, someone who has had recent major success and could be termed as world class, on the playing side this is the most important thing to get right of which most people know. The new coach can rid the club of the players who he deems unfit to take us to the levels needed to win silverware on a consistent basis.

3. Tony down at Tony`s spuds needs to be brought in to do the match day catering along with the role of compiling diet sheets for the players, from what ive read about Tony`s spuds on here he seems to be well respected by the players and coaching staff and they seem to confide in him so maybe he could have a mentoring role to condition the players minds on match days.

That i`ll do, its pointless talking about the Wakefield game itself as we were an embarrassment to the town and the name of Warrington. Well done to Wakefield on a fully deserved win, it shows you what grit and determination can achieve and how you can overcome a squad thats been depleted through injury.

1. Like Sir Fred Goodwin up to September 2008, you mean? Some of the most successful businessmen fail several times before finally succeeding - no pain, no gain.

2. Like Brian Noble and Ian Millward? It's very hard finding the right coach for the right set of players. Our best bet is if Tony Smith will give up the England job, and that may not be until next season. Either that, or splash out an outrageous sum on someone from Australia, including buying out whoever's current contract.

The saddest thing about all this is that we had a chance, five years ago, to get ahead of the pack. We've wasted those five years. Almost all clubs can now afford the full salary cap, and our continued lack of success means we have to wave goodbye to the 'club of the future' image we were trying to propagate.

Quote the sentence in its entire context rather than taking a part of it for your own benefit, i said "A head coach, someone who has had recent major success and could be termed as world class"

Neither Brian Noble or Ian Millward can be classed as world class coaches,we need the best coach that money can buy and it doesn`t include either of those 2 above.

The point about having directors on our board with an impeccable business record, it should really have said "directors that have an impeccable business record in this sort of area" which is what i have edited it too.

That is what is beginning to really grate with me. We have gone great guns off the field, it is a crying shame we never kept the same pace on it.

rob i could not agree more i posted something similar a few days ago

its culture from the top to the bottom

i would just add please sack doug hoyle he is chairman and offers nothing

ditch all the hangers on

we will lose simon moran at this rate and then we will be in the brown stuff

my choice of coach is justin morgan

chairman alan sugar

lifestyle enforcer mike nikko

and finally some players have given the best they can but bodies are not up to it provide warm and respectable farewell

i think lee briers looks like he has had his fill of the wire let him go to celtic crusaders with no hard feelings although i am not a fan of lee he has tried his best in his own style.

It really is time to recruit players who have the right values lifestyle attitude if not they must not be recruited and if they fall off shown the door

remember no one person is bigger than the club sounds corny but it is true

Good post, though ruined by the Tony's Spuds reference.

I think some of you are missing the major problem area, and that's the players.

there needs to be a cull of the dead wood and under achievers and until that happens the club will never achieve anything, you could have Wayne Bennett coaching and they'd still be crap.

Thats covered by the point of bringing in a world class coach, he would remove any dead wood from the playing side and bring with him a playing structure which we don`t seem to posess, at the min its like 17 players turning up that don`t have a clue whats going on and are not playing to an obvious game plan, visually it looks a right shambles.

i think you mean it like 17 players turning up that don't give a rats booty about the club or its fans, are very happy collecting their pay cheque each month and play like it.

but to be honest why would a world class coach come to warrington, with the alleged culture ingrained in the club, why would they want to ruin their reputation.

The original poster is not far wrong, but to see the problems at Warrington, just listen to what other teams' fans have to say about us.Sometimes the hardest things to see are those right under your eyes.

A broom does need to go through the club.Look at how ineptly the souvenir shop is run.Who is in charge of advertising future games? Now that is money for old rope. What is the point of Broomhead and Hoyle on the board?

We need a new coach fast.1 that has no links what-s0-ever with Warrington.1 who will bring in his own team of backroom staff. We need to buy players who specialise in 1 position only and not those who can play centre when they are a 2nd rower, just because they did at school.Leeds and Saints do it,so why cant we?

And finally, the worst thing that has happened to Warrington in recent years is the arrival of Simon Moran. His heart is in the right place, but trying to buy success,is only short-term.Since his arrival,Warrington as a rugby league team, has deteriorated. That cannot be doubted.

'Could' is a very vague expression - plenty rated Brian Noble world class after all his Bradford successes. And unless I'm to comment on every phrase in your post [iof course[/i I'm going to be selective. Don't post anything if you don't want comments

There is an old business expression: 'the best is the enemy of the good'. wait for someone with an 'impeccable record' and you'll wait forever.

There should be a vigil outside Culls house tonight holding candles just to apologise for the way he was treated by some fans.
