A golden age is upon us..lets hope it lasts ...because its very enjoyable!

What makes it special is the way we play...I challenge ANY fan to say they aren't entertained when Warrington play

Funny old world, I was there then and at the KC tonight. Being a Wire is often hard on the nerves but tonight it was a privilege to watch them. Well done Warrington.

I was there that day. It seems a lot longer than 10 years ago to me.

It's fantastic to see the club's development in that space of time. Long may it continue.

If that's the game I'm thinking of wasn't it a stinking hot day on the terraces? That article doesn't really do justice to the atmosphere, there were some boos at the capitulation early on but that very quickly turned in to a round of applause for every Bradford try, they were scintillating with the ball in hand that day (although, granted, they didn't have much stern defence in their way).

Yeah that's the one. I think initially we were all hoping for a repeat of the heroics from only a few weeks previous (I missed that 18-14 win because I was at my cousin's wedding, which, as it turned out 6 months later, was a waste of everyone's time!), we definitely got a rude awakening as to the gulf between the two teams at the time.

Very happy for Briers. He has given so much to your club and he deserves the success he is achieving at the back end of his career. Also happy Tony Smith has done it again, sets his teams up in the right way to play entertaining rugby.

Well done Wire - great to have a new team finish top of the pile........good luck for the play offs!

It does make you think how much things can change over 10 years. Bradford were so dominant that day and I remember a big Bradford away following taking the mickey out of us with a big cheer when we got our first try. A lot of their supporters were teenage girls who idolised Robbie and Henry - those girls will be in their mid 20s now, I wonder how many of them still follow Bradford or even bother with rugby league?

Imagine having a crystal ball that day and saying to (Melbourne Storm bound) Ian Sibbit, that in 10 years time he would be playing for Bradford....he'd be envisioning a long career of international caps and trophies ahead...then you could tell him that WE would be the ones winning the league.

Remember that match well, uncanny that 10 years later how the clubs position's have changed.

Never would have thought 10 years ago that we would be in this position of new ground, star players and the changes that have happened.

Well done Wire.

It was great to see so many Wires fans at Hull last night.

Great series of events to get us from watching from a gloomy, rotting terrace that dark day, to the complete hysteria, in epically good stadia that, I was in last night. Big thanks must go to everyone involved in 'the business' that is Warrington Wolves, from being on the brink of being relegated, to being the premier side in the competition, not just the players and coaches, (Paul Cullen and Sir Tony only, not Plange and bloody Anderson!) but the guys like Andy Gatcliffe et al who have made this club into one of the best in the World of RL.

What a fantastic day yo be a Wire!

That same weekend 10 years ago the fortunes of our current coach were also going in an interesting direction: www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2001/se ... ieldgiants

This was Smith's first year as head coach, he lost his first 15 games in a row (has any coach in history got off to a worse start than that?) and Hudds looked doomed to relegation with Widnes coming up from the NFP. However Hudds won 4 of their last 6 games to put up a good fight for survival - this was billed as the relegation decider, with Hudds 3 points behind Wakefield going into the penultimate game, Hudds went to Wakefield and squeezed a 21-19 win to take it to 1 point behind going into the last week and keep the relegation battle alive. Hudds duly won their last game (against London) but Wakefield also won theirs (against Salford) so they survived and Hudds dropped.

Relegation meant Hudds lost their best young prospect Martin Gleeson to Saints, and also one of their best young Academy prospects Chris Bridge, to Bradford.

I'm sure TS looks back at how far he has come in the past decade, 10 years ago he was trying to pull off the Great Escape (and failing and getting relegated), now he's just won his second league leaders' shield, to add to his two Super League titles and two Challenge Cups.

Wasnt it rumoured that T Nikau had had a barbecue the night before, and players were seen stumbling out at about 5am? Seems like an age away
