i was just sat here watching emmerdale with a brew, as you do, and the ads came on. One caught my eye, seeing as it had chained up rugby players on it. It's only another gem from genuis marketing team at the RFL. Cue the clips of cheering rugby fans and a booming voice over ''14 teams... clash etc''.

During the adverts of Emmerdale ha ha, at least the RFL are targeting the right demographic. When will the next advert be? In the break of 'Kerry Katona - The Next Chapter'?

Emmerdale rates second only to Coronation Street most weeks on ITV1, so this is a mass-market TVR grabber. You don't think many an RL fan eats his tea/dinner/supper that his missus has cooked with Emmerdale in the background? You don't think the RFL would have used a media buying agency to target their spend? Give 'em a break!

Loads of RFL apologists on here it seems. If we had a decent governing body in charge, the game would be in a much better state than it is now.

In this case though, I wasn't being sarcastic. Obviously this is a good advertising slot, I was just laughing at the sort of program the average RL fan would be thought to be viewing. I bet there's a lot who tune in to shi'ite like 'Kerry Katona - The Next Chaptoh' as well, which is why I used that as an example.

i think itv do very specific adverts in a very small small specific area. I would imagine that the advert was only for people in the Warrington, St Helens, Widnes ish area. Maybe as far as Manchester but i seriously doubt that.

I have seen an advert for Warrington's shopping centre on itv before. I think this was a waste of money. In both the area chosen and time of showing. Could be well off though

The same way they manage to find out who watched what from where, signals and receivers i guess :S Cant see it myself though, but if thats what they did, then fair play. I think tbh they showed it to all of the Granada region

Ad's are shown by regions not be town areas. These ad's on being shown on Granada and Yorkshire. shame they are not being shown on ITV Wales or London. As for managing to know what you watch. Talking about ads does anyone know who sings the music to the new Centre Parks clip?It's a male group i assume + i've heard the voice before but can't put my finger who it is.
