| I know its a very very long way..............but has anyone ever driven to Perpignan?
How long did it take you ? I would be grateful for any information regarding cost of tolls, how much petrol you used etc etc.
Thanks Fatbelly

| If you type in french tolls/ autoroute, there are sites that will calculate the distance & cost for the size of car you drive.

| I've driven to Rome.
2600 mile round trip. 24hrs each way, 3 people driving continuous.
Rough figure if remember was about £150 each for fuel, tolls, tunnel etc.
Was good fun but hard going getting very little sleep in the back of a car then driving for 3-4 hours.

| Have a look at this site rlhttps://www.autoroutes.fr/en/homepage.htmlrl
Distance depends on the port you use. I tried Calais to Perpignan distance is 1143km, Tolls €65.90 each way
Then you will have to add your channel crossing costs and fuel.

| driving again for the 3rd time I love it...!
...this one will be a tester as we have 9 month old twin boys for extra baggage....!
alas speed ferries are no longer so its not as cheap this year
for this years trip we have booked into the travelodge at the channel tunnel for Friday night and I will get some sleep there before we leave on the Eurotunnel at a ridiculously early time (3.30 am i think) but if everyones asleep I wont get the "are we there yet " chants from the back.
Should be in Ille sur tet for a tea time dip in the pool.
the price of fuel is now considerably higher than when we first went four years ago and the pound is considerably worse also, but there are five of us so its still cheaper than Flying and renting a car in france (plus we are going for two weeks too)
michelin web site has a good guide
rlhttps://www.viamichelin.com/rl
A71 A75 Costs130.70 GBP
Toll 45.47 GBP | Petrol 85.23 GBP |
Time10h12 which 09h48 on motorways
Distance706 mi which 694 mi on motorways
we used this the first time we went and the toll guide was bang on...the fuel as always depends on your load and how fast you go

| Yes we went in camper van from Warrington via Dover and then tried to avoid toll roads but this is not recommended as it would have taken us a lifetime.
The camper is an old 1982 VW T25 and we travelled at 50 ish mph all the way, it was a good laugh and we all enjoyed it but jeeeez its a long long way especially at 50mph.
Ironically just as we were approaching Perpignan a 'Harry's Taxi' flew past us, if we had known they went that far we would have ordered one!!
Seriously if you have a nice big car like a people carrier with air con and good fuel consumption and can share the driving then have a go but don't underestimate the distance, whatever you travel in it will cost a kings ransom in fuel.
Good luck.............

| Did it 2 years ago, and doing it again this year. Leaving after Wigan game, ferry Sat 8.30am 2 nights in La Rochelle, 6 nights hotel in St Cyprian, then drive to Antibes 6 nights Caravan. Then back to Calais, unfortunately will miss Saints Match as I am sure it will be changed to the Saturday for Sky. Husband drives all the way.

| wow i'm impressed, i drove to paris and back when PSG were in superleague, it's exactly 1,000 miles round trip from Leigh to warrington then to paris and back crossing dover calais! i set my millage gauge to zero prior to setting off and it rolled back to zero as i pulled onto my drive!
nb. it is important to take into account we got lost several times in paris.
