Possible bid in 2011. Along with another city.
Newcastle is only 3 hours down the M62, M1 and A1 ding dang doo. It could happen although as usual with this magic weekend I can't see that many locals going to watch RL, epecially the Geordies. (no offence Geordie)

| Newcastle is spot on for people who like to have a few scoops and the stadium is very central but i'm not sure if it is any good for families though

| The RFL should take it to the States. Be kind of like what the NFL do, but obviously not as big.
I reckon the Americans would take to RL, it would just require a lot of marketing.
It would be a massive risk in term of financing it and it's asking a lot of fans, but it's only one game a season and the rewards would be massive.
However I very much doubt they'd ever do it

Why would the rewards be 'massive'
Are you thinking that one game of rugby league watched by a handful of people would convert the American people to the sport?
They haven't got into 'soccer' yet and thats despite all the money they spend on Beckham!

| I suggested having it at Anfield or St James Park yesterday, which to me would be better equipped because of location.
However, it would defeat the point of the weekend. I don't agree with it all, I think it's stupid. But if you had the magic weekend on your doorstep, you would just treat it like another home/away game, and go see your team then go home again.
Having it in wales/scotland means that your hand is forced into watching all the games. I mean I know not everyone does, but more would than if it was around the main cluster of teams

| Sunderland or Middlesbrough is a better option for mine. It'd certainly look good with the stadium almost full

Not one game, 7 games
Plus Rugby League and "Soccer" can't really be compared. RL is fast and exciting and the closest sport to American Football.

| I'm not sure on the capacity, but haven't Cardiff City just had a new football stadium built, something like that would be ideal, if that's circa £30k. Get it packed to the rafters, folk may even miss out, best way. MK Dons ground, Oh, I dunno.
Failing that, just pick a town, or even a village, somewhere affluent, and then like, just don't tell them. Make it, so the locals of like Towchester wake up, get invaded by common folk, and the local 'W.I.' meeting is invaded by Cockers & Co with his regatta fleece under his 2005 jersey, banging out 'Barmy Army' and blown up sheep etc.

You forget that the biggest game in USA is American Football with similarities. they hate Football because they see it as namby pamby they actually like and respect rugby players.
It has more chance than football

A maaassssive raffle I say, including all the major towns/cities in the UK, would make it abit more exciting.
