| A number of posts have commented that our current style of rugby is less entertaining than under Paul Cullen. I really don't remember when this entertainment was on display, save that game at home to Leeds when Rau pinched the ball and Wigan at home when they had 11 players on the field. It was for the great majority of the time - dull.
Anyway I'll settle for winning rugby. Maybe when we've won back to back Grand Finals I'll allow myself to call for a more expansive approach.

| nah, for all i wasn't keen on cullen's overall policy, you can't deny we scored some thrilling tries, and scored a lot, it was just everything else that we were crap at that outwayed the positives.

| Just look at how many tries we used to score. We are currently 10th in the league on tries scored. Under Cull we were:
2003: 5th
2004: 7th
2005: 4th
2006: 4th
2007: 4th
2008: 3rd
We used to score some fantastic tries and have racked up some big scores on occasion.

| Probably because you are a Warrington fan and they are genetically ordered to be miserable.

Straight off the top of my head: Hull and Bradford at home 2005.

| Personally speaking I have not enjoyed a game at the HJ since Andrew Johns made a winning debut against Leeds.
That was a cracking evening with a superb atmosphere.
Sadly everything served up since has been truly average or awful.

I agree with the bolded bit. But there were many more 'WOW' games during the 2005 season, and a few during 2006 (Leeds at home, Leeds play off game, anyone?). Unfortunately, the 'WOW' was because we'd just scraped it, as opposed to 'WOW, we've just won the Challenge Cup'.

I did, but not so much last season. This cloud of doom seems to have started towards the back-end of Cullens reign and has not lifted since.

Just goes to prove that Darwin was right after all. After 35 years of winning nothing we've simply adapted to our environment.

Absolutely, if it was one or the other, Cull was not far off getting the team to play at the highest level. he might not have won everything but it would have been a great ride, not like the crap we see week in week out out of late.

Carry on the way we are and the only final we'll be boring our way to is the NL1 final
*Edit* Rugbychick, not Foz.
