According to the WG, the people have spoken & their shortlist for Player of the Year is:

Mike Cooper
Blake Austin
Matty Ashton

I think that the list is two probably, but certainly one player too long and that despite a squad with talent 'on paper' we are bereft of genuine contenders on the pitch.

My list would be Cooper followed by Ratchford, King and Ashton in no particular order

I’d go with those 4 too with an honourable mention for Jake Mamo post lockdown.

Cooper by a country mile. Ratchford second, probably Daryl Clark third.

Ashton is there as a nod towards the scarce bit of excitement among the mainly mediocre fare that we have been served up. But he hasn't been consistent enough to make the top 3.

As for Austin, what is he doing in the top 3?.. Been mainly underwhelming and certainly no value for his marquee wage. I'm almost hoping he catches the homesickness bug that so many of our imports seem to get.

Surely Coops is a shoe-in for this award

Coops, i'd say king has been better than the other two.

Cooper, no question.

King, Ashton and ratchford have been really good as well.

For the two games that he led a pack of youngsters when we had 5/6 players self isolating or suspended - Cooper.
It's a shame that we could not play well enough after that to feel secure enough to give some of them another chance other than when there is no choice through injury /suspension
In a year when the new 6 again rule should have given Daryl Clark the perfect platform to exploit that rule and show his ability it just shows how poor we were.
Clark is a bit like Roby in that he is always at least an 8 out of 10 player but given the new rule I would have been expecting him to be in the shortlist for the MOS award but he was nowhere near. More of a reflection on the team /,coaching rather than him

Unfortunately Mamo let us all down by not singlehandedly scoring 14 pts in 5 mins against Hull, as was Price's masterplan.

Cooper all day but a special mention to ratchford and Clark for carrying us this season Ashton been a breath of fresh air
