| This is back to the good old days of being a Wire fan.
Crap start to the season.
Overseas signing wants out.
Next it will be:
"unnamed Wolves player reported to have failed drugs test"
"crisis point as club allegedly unable to pay wages"
"fans shame club as violence breaks out on terraces/train station after local derby"
How long before we have the article in the Warrington Guardian where one of the players says "we all have to take responsibility for the position we are in, we had a clear the air talk in the dressing room where some harsh truths were said", when you hear that you know they are going to carry on being garbage for the next 6 games....

He he
"The players have taken a long look at themselves in the mirror"
"Players ask for crowd to get behind them during difficult times"
"Not far off"
"When we get that first win, I think we can go on a long unbeaten run"

| Home sick? Are these professional sportsman or not? They sound like a 14 year old on a French student exchange pining for home before they have reached Calais.

| On a related subject, I was interested in Ben Barba’s interview on the Super League show. When he said he had made some “bad choices” that had taken him to “dark places” it wasn’t entirely clear if he was referring to drugs or signing for St Helens, but to my ears he more or less said that although his contract is for a couple of years he expects to be gone back to the NRL at the end of the season

Mmmmm... that’s quite interesting.
I wonder if there is a clause in his contract (a Hiku clause) that says he may leave after one season should a NRL club be interested. Maybe Warrington wouldn’t agree to that condition based on the Sandow saga, and that played a big factor in his decision where to go? Or maybe it’s just because we are poop at the moment.
I fully expect him to play out of his skin this year to resurrect his NRL career. Even if he only lasts this season it’s probably been a good deal for Saints as he’s a matchwinner.

| He also mentioned about his kids approaching school age so it could also depend on if he wants them educated here or in Oz.

I doubt he will want the sintellins accent to take root in them.

| To be fair most Saints fans said they'd be happy if he came back for this season alone, which he has and which he'll storm. For a SL club to get 1 and a bit season's out of a player of his quality is more than good enough. There was talk on RedVee, when it looked like we might get Barba, about how most of them were pleased with their proposed back-up option of signing Ratchford.....what might have been, but Saints aren't that unlucky.
If Roberts were to have an absolute stormer this season, win us the GF and bugger off never to return we'd all be happy.
