| Both charged grade B for Tautai grade C for Charnley, I find it amusing that a tackle that could seriously injure a player is a lesser charge than touching the ref.

Agreed. It's very odd.
Let's see if Charnley gets the same as Currie did, or whether certain ex-goon players are on the disciplinary committee again this week.

| So lets see Charnley Grade C and he will plead guilty so the charge will be lowered to a B. Wigan will plead they need him for the challenge Cup game so reduced to grade A. He will then be told don't be such a idiot in future and get a 1 match ban and £300 fine mark my words. Tautai See above

| Read league express and weekly this morning and going by the letters in there and other things I've seen this disciplinary will I'm sure be watched with interest, the other thing I'm surprised at is no Wigan fan on here bemoaning they done nothing wrong and the Rfl are just picking on them etc etc etc.

John Stankevitch made quite a big thing of Fieldens presence on the committee on social media. I think he made a very good point.

| The problem is this:
The panel are selected well in advance. How are those who select the panel meant to know who will be appearing so that nobody is 'judged' by an ex-player who once played for the same club as the charged player?
If the ex-players on the panel can't take part in a case involving one of their ex-clubs, you would be ruling out a lot them as most players appear for 3/4 clubs during their career.

Can't see its insurmountable to choose ex player when they know who is up before the beak?
The issue isn't whether they are biased but whether they may be (reasonably) thought to be biased. Why take the risk. On the other hand the Wigan fans will no doubt take the view that any player who didn't play for them will be biased against them...then again "every one hates us we don't care"...

Thing is, ex team mate doesn't mean dick, they can still be friends even not being in the same team.
Case in point, I went to see the Alan partridge tour at the nynex in Manchester in 08, I bumped into Sean long who was there with Ian sibbit, now, neither played together, but only knew each other just being wiganers.

Except Superleague charges are heard on Tuesday and Championship on Wednesday, so Fielden wasn't involved.
