| Some team you have got there and some performance! Glad we touched it out last 10 and matched you! Just a shame that idiot was in the middle!!! Who was your 14? Westerman? He's bulked up a bit!!!

| Yeah, Westerman was 14 had an excellent game as did most of them to be fair.
Ben Currie looks set to be even more of a handful this year, he's massive but looks to have retained his speed.
Sandow and Gidley have to be our 6 and 7. Have to be.

He ruined us today, cut us apart on more than a few occasions.
Poor performance from us, we couldn't catch a cold today and let you get on too much of a roll.
Good luck for the season.

| I think Leigh came up against a team who wanted to prove a point today, I am really impressed with the squad already. Great to see Rhys playing again and Sandow was quality today. Shame Hock just seems to want t fight everyone when its not going his way. Good luck next season Leigh.

| Very harsh on hock! Sandow was having a right go at him with a massive swinging arm! I couldn't believe it when hock didn't let him have it! Also there is nobody worse than Ashton sims he's a right cheap shot merchant! All in all a good tough old fashioned rugby league game

Hock took plenty cheap shots today, pity you have to detract from the many positives Wire fans should be wallowing in tonight by spouting some pre pubescent carp. You have got the missing link in Sandow and Gidley that you have been missing for a few years, these two could set SL alight and Currie is developing into a brilliant wide second row that should be fantastic for us in the 2017 WC
Think you need another prop to finish the jigsaw but if any Wire fans are thinking of still to buy a ST then you must be off your rockers, your team needs supporting to the full
Have a great year

| I did not go to the game over Christmas but I was impressed with the attitude today. Really wanted to defend their goal line in the last 15 mins. We conceded some soft tries last year. It looks like there is a bit more needle in the team now and I think Gidley and Sandow are a big part in that. I couldn't see Myler or ratch having a real dig at Hock like Gidley and sandow did today.
We might not win any popularity competitions this year but it looks like we will be less intimidated. I just hope that Hughes, Currie, Atkins and Evans can back up the half backs when the going gets tough but looks good.
leigh had some quality on show today and more to come in Hanson and Chase but look a bit light in the three quarters. I suppose the 2 injuries sustained in Ormsby s first try didn't help.

| What a game,a full blood & thunder "friendly" & a treat for the fans with plenty of good natured handbags & i think ,on the whole, Leigh were better than the gaping scoreline. The game would have been a treat for a full house & will probably be better than some of our upcoming league games.
I thought at times though Ryan Atkins wasn't sure what position he was playing & i wonder if there was some planned switching between him & Currie at centre. I'm also not sure about Ben Westwood as a would be ball playing loose forward , he looks much more comfortable just driving the ball in.

| what I posted on the Leigh forum
I will start by saying I have not been to a live Game for 10 years or so after being an home and away Leigh fan for the previous 30 years my wife is a Warrington fan and as a treat we decided to go and really enjoyed it.
What can I say Leigh had a lot of endeavour but were totally outclassed by Warrington. The Match wasn't played as a friendly, it was a tough hard game ,and although I don't like saying it, Leigh looked a bit lightweight .I am sure they will bounce back from this ,and there were a few players that stood out for Leigh -Gareth Hock looked class ,but as we all know its his temper he needs to sort, but you can't deny he has no fear and if you took that aggression out of him he would be half the player. Fui seemed to have lost too much weight to me ,he looked small at the side of the Warrington Props .
Ridyard and Higson had good games and im sure Leigh won't play against many teams of Warrington's class this season. The game sadly had the look of the end of season games last year and Leigh will have to find a way to play at Super league level if they are to come up at the end of the season. I am not totally sure playing teams like Batley etc week in week out puts them in a good position to play against the bottom Super League clubs at the end of the season ,I hope im wrong ,but there still seems a massive gap between a full strength Super League side like todays Warrington and a great championship side. All in all still a very enjoyable change, and something I've not done for a while - The Leigh crowd were awesome, and I felt out of place stuck in the middle of all the Warrington fans, but they like all rugby crowds put up with the odd away fan in with them ,what a great game Rugby league is .
come on you Leythers
p.s I think looking at your side ,it will be Warrington's year this year

| I've managed to miss both friendlies so far but what I've read on here is very positive. It's certainly left me very excited for the opener. However, let's not get carried away. They're only friendlies after all and from memory, last year we battered KR 40-0 and also nilled Widnes. Cannot wait to see Gidley and Sandown together though, the same goes for our back row.

Agree we might need to temper our expectations based on last pre season's results, but, there were a lot of positives yesterday all over the park particularly for me Sandow, Gidley, Evans, and Currie. Clark played well and for his 65 or so minutes and we looked more inventive than last season admittedly against a Leigh team looked more interested in niggle than RL as the game progressed.
I know that we are all getting a year older and I'm stood next to Charlie Winslade but this squad look decidedly fresh faced with game time if we keep them fit, healthy, interested and together this team has a chance (that's the mockers well and truly put on it)

| Surprised no-one has mentioned Penny who didn't put a foot wrong at fullback. His positioning was excellent.
Jordan Cox could be a sharp bit of business as well.
