I didn't as we left straight on the hooter and headed for the first train home, but I've just gone on another non rugby forum and a lad who lives in Widnes but wasn't at the match posted about 5.30 saying he'd just driven past two pubs with their windows smashed and there was police helicopters. Rumours that a young lad had gone missing too apparently.

Now obviously I hope that's not true about a missing kid, but anyone see what happened in/to the boozers?

Saw five idiotic males trying to raise an argument with Warrington fans as they walked towards McDonalds. That was it. They probably stayed for the Wooden Spoon presentation

Someone sent me a text about a rumour that Widnes fans had a "plan" of some sort for Warrington fans but I didn't see any trouble after the game.

The plan was, for the Widnes "massive" to gather outside The Cricketer's and wait for the Wire fans.
Upon which, they would all genuflect, and finally admit that Warrington are the all mighty rugby force of North Cheshire, and they're very sorry about that merger "thing" of the mid nineties, and they shouldn't have insisted that they merge with us, because they were going to go bust (Mystic Meg didn't know how much we were financially "up pooh creek" we were, though) icon_smile.gif

I kicked up a fuss with that fat head steward who wouldn't allow Riley or Solomona to approach the kids in the stands.

Apparently RFL rules and regs state "Players are not allowed off the pitch or into the stands".

Fair enough, I'm sure the same regs say no kids or non-authorised personnel on the pitch either yet all clubs do it on their final home game. He had no comeback to that and walked off. Jobsworth

"two pubs with their windows smashed and there was police helicopters."

Sounds like a normal day in Widnes.

It was good banter and atmosphere and the most away supporters of the season by far to be honest.Ashame our squad depth is so poor unlike Warrington.I feel another hard season for Widnes next year, unless buy some more quality.

This, seen Solo going trying to go over to a kid in a wheelchair at the bottom left of the stand and they wouldn't let him. Was hardly going to cause a riot was it?

Dave should have dropped him. Like he did to Nero all those years ago when he played for Bradford against Hudds I think.

That would have been worth the admission money alone.

Don't be too down-hearted. I've just had a look at the player movements thread on VT for the confirmed moves so far, I don't think ANY of the SL teams are looking stronger for 2013 and quite a few look a fair bit weaker.

Walked to the train station and there were no problems. Plenty of police around, vans and the police helicopter was up as deterrents.

The highlight of the day from Widnes fans was the way they celebrated gesturing wildly towards us - with a few of them doing that ridiculous "easeh easeh" seal clapping thing - when they scored their third try. Was it because they thought they were now back in the game at a mere 40-14 down?!

I remember them doing exactly the same seven years ago when we were already about 50-60 points ahead and their relegation was minutes away from being confirmed.

Bless them.
