Not heard owt, but he is clearly (and rightly now IMO) behind King in Price's centre position. If the club are confident Burrell could come in and cover centre (along with Mamo) in 2019 then it could be a decent option to free some cap space for a mid season signing?
He's been a good servant to Warrington but I think it's time to move on, either at the end of this season or sooner if the club think we can strengthen elsewhere.

| Still puts a decent shift in and hits hard going forward. He's a great Squad player and has been awesome for us all in all. We are starting to move on from him and i assume if he leaves at the end of the year will free up a decent wage? Still got plenty of rugby in him and hope he gets a new deal elsewhere if we let him go at the end of the season. I think if he dropped to the championship he would prolong his career a fair few years and be a top player. Time will tell

| He has never made a secret that he wouldn't mind the opportunity to finish his career at Wakefield if the opportunity arose being the club that gave him an opportunity as a starter.

| Atkins began his career with the Bradford Bulls, not Wakefield.

He never really got going at Bradford, only played a handful of games I think, Wakefield gave him his break.

| Yes but we gave him the opportunity to play Super League as Bradford didn’t see him as good enough and was in their reserves...was great for us and has been a brilliant player for Warrington...
I could see sense at a month by month loan deal as our two left centres are both currently out for a while and while Mason Caton Brown filled in well there against Leeds with a teenager on debut on the wing picking up the motm...going forward that pairing would struggle over a couple of months period IMO...
Couldn’t see the sense in offering a 34 year old who’ll want decent money a contract for next season when we have two of the best starting centres in the league and Joe Arundel as cover...
Would definitely take him now though to see us through a very tough period as he’d slot straight in nicely and do an excellent job for us.

Bit picky, he never played first team and basically arrive to keep Brett Ferres company. There are a number of SL players who started off in Wakefields academy but got there first team start elsewhere, I acknowledge our input but they are not really our players.

Here's me thinking he played in the challenge cup for Bradford against Featherstone. April 3rd, 2005

| Atkins not first choice any more BUT I would have him ahead of Burrell. I know that might not sit well with a few people. I suppose Burrell is effectively very cheap though for 2 years.

| If this is true the good luck to him, he's been a brilliant signing for us. Atkins has still been doing a good job this season but I would imagine Burrell will have been given some guarantee about opportunity to play otherwise he probably wouldn't have been interested in signing. Goodwin and King will be our first choice centres for the remainder of the year and rightly so. King is becoming one of the best centres in the league, Goodwin has loads of experience and is a slightly better all round centre than atkins.
