| I just can't justify buying my family a season ticket..
When we know exactly what we're gonna get next year and frankly none of us enjoys watching us play at the moment

| I'm not sure if it's a case of not seeing what lots of others, and not just Wire fans, seem able to see or just the management team [igenuiinely[/i believe Price is doing a good job.
The Emperor's new clothes syndrome seems to pervade everything and the people in charge really don't seem to see what is glaringly obvious; we are an expensively put together, poorly coached squad and the lifeblood is being squeezed out of the club by poor recruitment, awful team selection and questionable tactics.
And still Nero plays on.

| Fitzpatrick is a joke, a disgrace to our club.
With that 'statement' he merely emphasises what I strongly believe to be the culture at the club right now and that is that winning is not the number one priority anymore. It all seems to be about creating some sort of all round product that we, as the customer, are expected to embrace and buy into.
Well, what his statement as done, has purely confirmed for me that I will no longer be visiting his 'product' until he and Price are removed from the club.
I can honestly say the club is presently at a low that we haven't witnessed since the Anderson/Plange era and if the board don't see it and act immediately, then they deserve what is heading their way and that is a continuing failure of a club, leading to an increasingly disillusioned and disinterested Warrington public.

Hard to disagree with a word of that, DSM.
The only thing that's disappointed me in this thread, is MY use of the word "prat"....I'll learn from my mistake

| The problem with a lot of leadership today, whether it comes in politics or business or sport, is that its more about comms and handling, than performance.
You can survive a few years of failing to deliver your goals, through the right comms tactics:
When you take over, show the public that you understand the problem the way they see it, eg at Wire we've had some success over the past few years winning Cups, but we haven't won a Championship since the 1950s, and that's the one the fans want to see, they also want to be entertained and see more home grown talent.
To keep people on board after early failures you have to restate your ambition in a way that impresses people. At the start of this season we had that stuff from KF about we don't just want to be the best in Super League but one of the biggest sporting brands in the world, last season was a disappointment even though we won the Challenge Cup, and he expected us to do the clean sweep over Wigan. This kind of talk is to head off early doubters by convincing them that this is a regime that has high standards.
Then if you fail a bit more, people start to get angry and want to see some accountability. If the person at the top wants to avoid being held accountable by the public, they need to pivot to being the one who holds others to account. So at some point there will be some changes, perhaps first a shuffling of the deckchairs amongst the lower coaching staff and then ultimately sacking the head coach. The CEO may be able to get away with a couple of head coach sackings before the finger starts getting pointed upstairs. If a CEO is too trigger happy, he will end up losing the fans earlier than he hoped - see Marwan Koukash at Salford.
As time goes on, it becomes harder to avoid responsibility so you need to divert attention onto something else: either an excuse - covid has been an unprecedented challenge so this is what disrupted what would otherwise have been a successful season - or reframe the objectives so that you can describe performance as a success. Once we start getting fans back in again, I expect KF will start to pivot to talking about off field things eg our matchday experience has been a great success, fans are engaging with the halftime entertainment much more than before, we did a survey about what fans wanted to see in the matchday experience and brought in X and Y, twitter engagement is up in terms of likes and retweets etc.
Eventually failure catches up with everyone but with the right comms strategy you can stay in a senior role without really doing much for 4 to 5 years at least, which is pretty standard for a senior position and then you can move on to the next role and start the cycle again.

| The trouble is, COVID has affected everyone. Wigan and Saints (and to a certain extent, Leeds) have adapted. That comes as no surprise. Using sally's political overture, Fitzpatrick is morphing into a spin doctor, rather than his job title.
Unless I'm mistaken, 10,000 go through turnstiles to see a team playing well and winning (hopefully). Not a bloke on stilts, a loud, tuneless indie band, a man in a wolf costume and a few daft social media posts. YouTube is the place for that, NOT the HJ.

I have said this so many times I’ve lost count. I go to a sporting event to watch sport not any of the above.

| Do you think the reason we haven’t won the Championship for so long is because of the mascot/ stilt walker (I missed that)/band? They seem totally peripheral to me BUT a lot of children seem to take pleasure in it, and if a club it’s to prosper they have to look to the future not just cater for the dyed in the wool supporters.
These things aren’t doing any harm and may be doing some good, perhaps us old farts need to be a bit more open minded. Just a thought.

| Ok il bite so yes put all this fan entertainment on to get younger and other people into the stadium the idea being they watch wolves running around the pitch etc etc and then they watch the match, we win they get caught up in it and think oooh that was good to watch we will go again but watch us get beat and it will be oh hope jedward are back soon.
Yes a lot of us are old farts and all we want is to watch rugby not a sideshow but if you going to run a sideshow to get more fans it’s simple you need a winning team or they won’t come back, I’ve even seen older people stop going because they are fed up with the performances we have been dished up then the lame excuses that come out for it.
Some one said back in the days at wilderspool we went to games not expecting wins and the joy when we were walking out of fletcher st after a win was awesome. The club have come a long way since those days and expectations are higher now, I like others think the club is not being run in the right way.

| The two things (marketing/match day experience v on-field performance) don’t have to be mutually exclusive but unfortunately we’re doing our best to make it look that way.
