| Wish him all the best, horrific injury. Another of our youth products following the tried and tested Warrington Youth Development* Pathway.
Early promise -> Hype -> First team -> Hope -> Fails to secure place -> Transfer out of the club to lower leagues.

| Vaguely depressing isn't it? For all our cheap digs at Shaun Wane during his tenure at Wigan, he did wonders for the career of several promising youngsters.
I wonder how many would have followed this well worn path if they'd been with us, and similarly whether the careers of Patton, O'Brien, Moran, Smith etc. would have flourished more under his tutorage.
Time to uncork the Harvey's Bristol Cream again I think.

| I suspect Pat Moran will be the next one in the departure lounge.

| The thing is - that we recruit players that are not good enough and play them in the first team. Tasi being one of them. Far older and on more money. I'm afraid that we are either very, very unlucky in recruiting young players with promise only for them to not develop or something is very wrong with the way we nurture players at a critical stage of their development. It's OK for some to come on here and say "well we let them go and they didn't amass to anything" but that argument assumes the damage was not already done during their tenure. Depressing times, we have not turned a corner at all.

Those players would have not got the game time in the first team at Wigan that they did at Warrington, because there would have been better home grown players ahead of them coming out of the Wigan Academy. They would have got moved on, like Matty Russell did.
Wigan have loads of failures in terms of their youth players as well. The difference is they have the volume to ensure that they get a handful of hits, and that's all you really need. If over a 5 year period you can produce 4 international calibre players you have done superbly well and have a core of players that you can keep in your team for a decade.
There's often a theory that Wire produce lots of talent but then don't know what to do with it when it gets in the first team. If that were the case, other clubs would have picked them up and they would have thrived there, and we'd have a list of "ones that got away". But we don't, they all go off to lower SL clubs or Championship clubs and then fade away. The problem for us seems to start further back, we don't have the talent coming through in the first place.

| He can do everything that mamo does and is probably cheaper on the cap. Feel sorry for him his injury just came at the wrong time for his career.
Best wishes to him I hope he gets back to superleague in the future.

Spot on CW8
On very limited viewing I think Mamo edges it in attack particularly for speed but Johnson has the upper hand as an all rounder definitely better under a high ball and with a bit of luck injury/coach wise should have had more first team game time particularly ahead of Russell
I remember him catching Matty's balls v Widnes away the game after the clattering and thought then he was a better option

| I always hope for the best for any youngster coming through. The odds are massively against them making it after many years of dedication so I appreciate how crushing it must be to be shipped out. Good luck Jack.

| Good luck to him. A good lad who has had horrendous luck with injury. Wish him well and hope he can perhaps work his way back up to Super League one day.
Will he be a big loss though? Really, in all honesty, he won’t be. He was decent cover, at best. He needs to play, he wants to play and he’s not going to get the game time he needs at a club challenging near the top end of the league.
Once again, all the best to him, but can’t help but think there’s a bit of an overreaction in the fact we’re letting him go. There’s plenty of things to beat ourselves up over at the minute, but don’t think this is one of them.

| People moaning about this should remember we used to have the few world class products we brought through our academy bought for world record fees by the likes of saints and Leeds. Johnson looked like a decent player to me when he first came through, but he's ended up at featherstone. It isn't a loss to us one bit, but good luck to the lad.
