Dont know about you, but I thought the match today was a bit strange.

First we had the usual 'cold start' from Wire. Then those 3 hull tries. I couldn't see properly where our defence failed because of my position - anyone get a good view of this ?.

Fast forward to the second half and Hull started really strongly, presumably thinking they were on for a win, but Wire got two scores in front and then Hull seemed to almost lose heart.ok, they lost a man, but their heads seemed to go down. I thought Hull were pretty poor for the last 20 minutes.

Ben Currie is really starting to look the part (for me anyway). Pity they chalked off his try. He did some v good defensive work as well, using his speed to cut out some dangerous attacks down the flank. I suspect he may well be a regular next season.

Tyke's performance was ok, but not great. Carvell looked good. Monas senior was not fit, but we saw some flashes when he took fast play the ball when Hull were out of position. Briers didn't seem to quite get his 'can opener' working on the Hull defence, but the try was nicely taken.

I mean you can't complain at 40-18, but we didn't seem to really click like last season. All in all, it just seemed a strange match ????

I believe the week with players away didn't help.

Just like Higham has been doing this year.

Monagan M really steered us up the pitch, when he came on.
We looked weak in the middle for the first 20 mins, but stiffened up for the remainder of the game. A good effort to keep Hull tryless for 3/4s of the game.
Ratchford looks better and better. A great returner of kicks.
Bridge was quietish until late on, in fact, the whole right edge was overshadowed by our left side
Still need to see more from GO'B.

22 point win. Good stuff

Quality moment when that endofabell Heramia squared up to Woody, only for Woody to shove his face back. Get back in your place, son.

Am not saying Higham is a better hooker but we have playrd half the season without Monas. And we doing ok in a semi final sitting in second place in league.Higham must be doing something right.

I've not been a fan of highan since he signed, I can't fault how he's shown up this year, but make on mistake xe haven't played like xe did last year, but as I say when Monas picked that call up and ran past the marker he had briers pushing up on his right, two players on his inside, xe were on the front foot and swarming, even with him playing well xe don't and haven't done that with mickey

My opinion of the first half was that we seemed to lack fluidity in defence & caused some of our own problems by not sliding across , maybe the lay off last week didn't do us any favours & the attack seemed to be lacking the spark to get firing properly. We did seem to improve in the second half. I think we were lucky at times that Hull gave us so much ball through indiscipline or we could seriously have been trailing at half time. I was pleased with our discipline & error count & also GO'B's long range goal kicking.

I would like to see a bit more creative play from GOB. Ok, he is young but he has had a good run in the first team this year and I was hoping to see an occasional break, or 'money ball' from him. Perhaps he will develop a bit more over the close season.

With the talent we have at 2nd row, I am not convinced Tyke is going to be more than a squad player. Pity, but it starting to get brutal now for a regular 1st 17 spot.

Higham has done really well in the absence of Monas ( for me ), but we definitely need the guile and inspiration of Monas 2011 to win silverware this year.

Just my thoughts.

What are your thoughts on the crowd? The posh extension doesn't look like it will be used much. I was expecting a rise in Wire's crowds given the recent success in terms of trophies and the genuine hope of a League title for the first time in most supporter's lives, but bar the increase for the Saints game, it doesn't appear to be happening?
