| what a great moment the cup being paraded everyone singing a moment to remember for life, i was quite emotional as i was at the semi of cup when wigan did not rush to pack down they had given we had won and we were wembley bound. During the celebrations i reflected about the journey my thoughts went to the times when we were at our lowest the anderson period when we were down to the bare 3500 at wilderspool prior to paul cullens arrival how close we were to relegation which would in my mind would have meant no way back for the club no statium no cup no club but we did it and here we are fantastic so hats off to all those 3500 those still with us those no longer with us, all those players who ran hard when hope was low but they still had the passion for the wire i cannot mention them all ,just a few, mark hilton, gary chambers, etc thanks lads ,great times great moments .............cum on you wire

Good post. 2002 away at Hull after the tonking we got in front of the sky cameras against London. There was about 200 of us who made the journey. Rewarded with a good performance with 5 drop goals from Briers if i remember correctly. Got a fantasic win with Rodwell shining

| Surreall day that one, Briers knocked a drop goal over every time we got anywhere near the sticks. Felt like you had personally spoken to every Wire fan that was there.

| Or many of the games in 2002 when we put together a team of all-so-rans on a shoe string to stay afloat, the likes of Dale Laughton, Dale Cardoza, Leroy Rivette, then Moran bought Wood and Westwood.
Some of the best Atmospheres that season supporting a team that we where expecting to lose and trying to boost them to a win.
I miss that, expectation now means no one gets behind them unless they are winning, wrong way round for me, aren't we supposed to help drive them on?

Agreed. The atmosphere at Wilderspool when we beat Saints 56-22 was unbelievable. The times when we went to the JJB and Valley Parade, Knowsley Road knowing we were going to get stuffed. Just went for the party atmosphere and the love of the game

Bradford at home, June 2nd, same day England drew with Sweden in the World Cup, sticks out for me. I think we lost 36-6 ( could be wrong, though) and the atmoshphere second half was immense, I think we played better second half, Briers kicking especially well, we just couldn't break through the dominant Bradford defence.
Been a long time since I heard a "Where were you when you were sh.t?" with such conviction.

The valley parade game where they stuck us all in one corner of the stand because we where doing the stewards heads in
The one from that season that stands out in my mind was the Bradford game when Nikau came back from Burying his wife, getting thrashed at half time something like 36 - 0 to come back and win scoring nearly 50 unanswered points in the process.
I would love to know what went on in the dressing room at half time in that game, must be one of the best team talks in the history of sport.
Wilderspool rocked on it's foundations that night.

| That may have been a different season after reading the 2000 review. It says that we lost the game against Bradford when Nikau returned, I could have sworn we won it.
My memory is terrible.

| The game that always sticks out in my memory was the Wigan game which was taken off Sky because we had been losing so much. We went 12-0 down in 10 minutes and won 47-38. We had a 15 minute spell when eveything went right. Gary Mercer was MOTM, but any one of the 17 could have won it.
I was in the Sponsors Lounge with some other Wolfweb members. We did the Matchball Sponsorship, what a great night, one of my best in over 40 years of watching the Wire. I've still got the Video and it's still exciting to watch.
