| Just after a bit of help guys, a friend of a friend is writing Andy Gregory's new book and it is pretty much all done all she needs is a few quotes from fans who watched him.

| Andy Gregory, not a person that is well liked at Warrington.
Great player & the best scrum half to play for Warrington.

| A talented player who shone at two huge British clubs but had only one chance during his playing career to turn a struggling club, Warrington into a great club.
Alas that opportunity was dismissed as he openly admitted he used Warrington as little more than a stepping stone to get to play at Wigan.
So you will forgive me for not speaking too kindly, which is too bad as the memory of the crushing defeat we gave to Leeds is one I wont forget.

| Got to agree one of the best scrum halves I have seen but the way he left !!!!!!!!
Puts him way down the list and when you compare to the loyalty of the late great Parry Gordon --- no comparison too someone who was Wire through & through.

| I know Andy as a friend , he has nothing but good to say about his time spent at Wire , he is very genuine and very honest bloke who never refuses to give his time to anybody , im very surprised at these comments about him , im a Leyther through and through , but I think Andy is a great bloke .

| He's fat, he's round, he bounces on the ground
If I actually typed my feelings towards the short-bottomed alky, they'd fall foul of the swear filter.
Superb player, but for me, a "wazzzock"

| As others have mentioned, it was the way that he left that leaves Wire fans with a bitter taste over Andy Gregory.
The closest I can come to a tribute is that he was the difference between Wigan becoming the great side of the late 80's, instead of Wire.
At the time of his exit, Wire were simply crushing all before them, including a beating of Wigan at Wilderspool - From his exit onwards, the pendulum steadily swung and what we had to endure was the saddest of false dawns I've witnessed in all my time following Wire.
From his brief spell with us, he provided some of the best rugby league I've ever seen, but he also left us with the overwhelming feeling of 'what if???......'

Excellent post. I think most Wire fans with long memories will agree with this.
Duckie, you are really starting to get me worried. I actually agree with some of your posts, this one especially.

| So basically make sure you write in this book that Warrington fans are a load of bitter whingers who couldn't handle that a player who had been a great player for us signed for another club that was more ambitious than we were at the time and could offer him the chance to take his career onwards and upwards whereas we couldn't.
I'm sure Andy Gregory will be able to get over some hate from Wire fans I doubt there are many nights when he has regretted winning all those medals with Wigan and thought "if only I'd stayed at Warrington".
Ask some Warrington fans what they think of their great heroes Ben Westwood (walked out on his home club in the middle of a relegation battle to join a relegation rival) and Chris Hill (treated Leigh as a stepping stone just to get in to Super League) and see what character judgements they make on those two. No doubt fantastic upright citizens both!

It wasn't the matter of Gregory leaving . It was the way that he did it. He was in dispute with the club over a fine he refused to pay. It was all set up for Wigan to come along.
