| It's a step up from the HJ apart from when it rains with a breeze, then frankly, I wouldn't want to be stood anywhere near The Halo. It's a great original design idea and visually striking, but it in no way acts as a roof because it's elevated above the stands and with massive gaps and leaves large swathes of the terraces effectively open to the elements (there's no glass or perspex between them, nor can the design accomodate such a modification).
It could be Wembley and I'd pick fault with it though, because I'm very petty and just don't like Saints. Maybe I'm just jealous.
Yes, that's it - I'm jealous.

| to be fair it looks impressive from the front entrance and from the Aerial shots of it.
However the images from Granada reports from inside were less than impressive it didnt look finished....!!
maybe they were keen on Showing the stand with the Saints Lettering on the Seats but that along with the standing terrace they showed has no hospitality boxes just big gaps of open space between the back row of the seats and the roof....
it looked a bit like a non league footy ground from those images....
It's made by Barr it'll be nothing more state of the art than Breeze block walls and aluminium urinals....it'll just smell cleaner for a while.
still the more brand new Rugby League Stadiums the better..

| Name sounds like one of those new housing developments to me. Shame that no-one is immune to the corporate bucks nowadays and actually names their stadia after a local feature or dignatary.
All rise for Lord Halliwell Jones......

That's because it isn't yet finished.
Not only are the interiors to be completed but finely perforated cladding is being fixed around the stadium between the wall and the roof. Air needs to pass through as the design means that wind resistence has to be limited. That will be completed by the start of the new season.
What you don't see either from the pictures is the fabulous landscaping on the other side, the side people will see from the Linkway. It's amazing and will look stunning once the trees have grown. (Either that or it will be filled with scrotes!)
PS: McManus Drive was named by the Council, not by Saints.

Mummy duck is now thoroughly depressed. SHE was the one that was famous for losing five in a row........until the 2011 GF!!!!!: |
|
| Looks very nice and TBH I would have been really disappointed if it didnt seem "better" than the HJ, after-all this is brand new, the HJ is nearly 8 years old. The real test will be when competitive rugby is played there and whether it can hold an atmosphere...............or whether enough saints fans actually go to generate one!
