| Chris Hill is it.
Sims has improved some on last season Imo, but he's the shadow of Chris Hill.
I really do struggle to recall a single bust or break of a tackle in his time here.
I've been dished before for saying it but my opinion it is still the same, he's too light for a prop.
This season we've got back rowers coming out of our ears and seemingly no biff again.
A powerpuff pack. It's nothing but the skills of Sandow that's got us out of the sugar this season.

| The pack is carried by Hill with little other go forward from the pack as a unit, with the exception of Clark.
They look unwilling to attack with ball in hand, Penny must be taking the ball in and running at them and making more yards.

| I've said before you've signed too many journeymen.
Smith and Agar are notorious for neglecting the academy in favour of power puff journeymen from the other side of the Penines.
Chris Hill is quality.
Ashton Sims is a big girls blouse and when the going gets tough he gets gone.
Mitch Dodds is crocked and whenever he recovers his confidence will be shot.
Bailey, well.... he's Ryan Bailey and looks like he is already causing trouble and ruining the professional culture. Smith knew what he was like though before he signed him and allowing him to share a flat with Tom Lineham is a recipe for disaster so he must take full responsibility for this failure.
Jordan Cox is bang average and is on his way to being a journeyman who makes the typical descent of playing for Featherstone via Wakefield.
Joe Westerman is another bang average jouneyman who can put in one good performance a month and then have 5 terrible games. His career will follow that of Anthony England in the future.

Have to say on current form I agree with pretty much all of this.

| Irrespective of whether I agree with this, and frankly for the most part I don't, I fail to see what Cox has done (wrong) to deserve such cynicism. The lad has been a revelation - if he never puts a Wire jumper on again he's made more of an impact than Asotasi ever did.
The perennial mantra of the sports fan is "I don't mind losing as long as we try". Well, Cox has been the personification of this - sheer effort, commitment, a desire to prove himself and some highly impressive performances. So what do people do? Bag him cos he didn't come with a huge reputation, put a dent in our salary cap or have an Aussie twang.

Yeah regarding Bailey and lineham flat sharing together I said it too mates at the start of the season absolute disaster waiting to happen. Watching the official you tube videos the club release, when both Bailey and lineham were together it was the weirdest thing I have seen in a while, like beavis and butt head sat in front of the camera. From what I here the local takeaways in Stockton Heath are doing well out of the arrangement though!!

Im guessing this is why you are no longer a journalist for a minor regional newspaper. ......
Ashton Sims is a big girls blouse. .....What does that mean. ..is that a reference to his long hair. ...
He's a decent forward with a good work ethic and attracts a number of defenders when he hits a ball up. He's just a bit lightweight. ... I'm not disappointed in him he's what I expected from what I saw in the nrl.
Cox has been superb......Dodds may be a crock. But after two knee reconstructions behind him he followed those up with an nrl grand final Wayne Bennett didn't think his confidence was shot. ..
Anyway. ..I'm guessing you've more pressing matters worrying about the journeymen from Leigh bombing out of the challenge cup...

| What is all this nonsense ??
Get a grip folks - the squad has not changed from Good Friday - we were and still are a well balanced squad who will take some beating. Recent results show that anyone can beat anyone on their day.
The Sandow injury has knocked us offensively - but he will be back for the important part of the season.
Whoever said we have too many journeymen players (quite insulting to any professional RL player in my opinion) - show me a squad that does not have solid / reliable pros in its ranks - its the way this game works.
The Smith and Agar comments - back it up with facts.
Nothing wrong with Sims - he does his job for the team. He is not Chris Hill but not many other teams have a second Chris Hill either

| Kevin Penny is our second best prop. Haha
We were light in numbers and size last season so brought in Dodds Cox and Bailey and they're all injured so we are now lighter and shorter in numbers in props than I ever remember.

You've obviously never watched Cox in a Wire shirt
Plus I find your opinions to be among the biggest load of bull on this whole forum

| If you ever see any of these players close up they're f'in massive.
I have no probs with Ashton. He doesn't make yards like Hill but Chris is world class.
A lot of it is to do with heart.
At 6' 3" and 17 st you'd think Lineham would be suited to prop - same with Jonah Lomu, but they're on the wing (or were).
Cox makes an impact. Don't think King does but ha does a lot of other things right (defence eg).
We're not so bad.

| Chris Hill is special and playing alongside most other props in SL would make them look less of a player.
Didn't think Sims would go well for you after last season but he seems to have a lot of passion in a Wire shirt.
I wouldn't worry. You'll storm into the semi finals this season. You have a well balanced team. It's just about them last two games. Seen as the Giants aren't going to make it I hope you guys lift the trophy... Unless we pull off the miracle of the century.

| So, what's the latest on Ben Evans? He's a big unit and has had a number of games for the reserves, when can we expect him to turn out for the first team?
