| A couple of posters have suggested the team for Saturday. The one below is from 'Moving Forward'
Hodgson
Riley
Atkins
Evans
Joel
Ratch
Myler
Hilly
Monas
Carvell
Waterhouse
Currie
Grix
Cooper
Higham
Tyrone
Woody
Basically with Westwood and Morley now out, Tyke and Currie are drafted into the list. I think most people would probably come to a similar conclusion. But which two players would make up the 19 ?
Looking at the squad / extended squad, Williams, O'Brien, Blythe, Evans are all loaned out. Laithwaite is/was apparently injured, as is prop Riley (hand) and anyway he is one of the 6 'signed' for Swinton. Dwyer is available, but we don't need a hooker. Prop Benion is untried at this level and only 19. Saltonstall (winger / centre) is also untried and only 19. That seems to only leave Danny Bridge.
OK, we would have to be unlucky with a twisted ankle or flu to need these additional two. But we do seem to have suddenly gone from a situation where we had too many players floating around looking for a game, to one where we are looking rather light. Unless I have missed something ?

| Our squad has plenty of quality but does seem light on numbers compared to others. The decision to release so many to Swinton on season long contracts does seem odd and may well hurt us if we have an injury crisis in the form that hasn't hit us for a few seasons. I remember Tony saying that one of the reasons we didn't sign anyone from outside was to release some SC money to give to some of the youngsters on the fringe of the squad. To now let them leave doesn't, on the face of it seem to add up.

No offence taken. Perhaps I shouldn't have talked about the 19. it's simply that when I did wonder as to who the other two might be, I started to realise that we didn't have a huge amount of cover anymore. I found that surprising, because at the start of the season, I couldn't see how TS was going to ensure all our players would get regular game time.

They are not on 'season long contracts' but instead are dual-registered. TS can call on any of the Swinton-registered players at any time, which is why the arrangement has been so controversial with Championship clubs.

| Wouldn't surprise me if this is our team on Saturday, will be interesting to see how Myler and Ratchford get on against tougher opposition. Currie definitely deserves his chance, TS bringing him in to the first team slowly will help his development, looks certain to be a great player in the future.

I am afraid these players are not DR'd. Below is a letter from the RFL in response to a question from a Swinton fan about the status of the six players;
Extract of letter from RFL;
"Picking up on your specific point I can confirm six Warrington players have recently transferred to Swinton, all of whom were ineligible to play in this season’s U19s competition due to being in the U21 and U20 age categories. Having taken the view point they were not going to play many, if any, games in the first team in 2013 all six players have agreed to the transfer arrangements and their new employment contract with Swinton Lions RLFC. These players are now not registered or contracted with Warrington Wolves and therefore do not count towards the regulation regarding only allowing 5 loan and/or dual registered players in any matchday 17".
So they have a " new contract with Swinton" and are "not now contracted with Warrington"

I was linking it with the second half of the Cas game when Briersy went off as a 'Precaution' but in regards to Bosc and Pryce then probably not.

| I agree we were found wanting a little when Briers went off v Cas however, given this will be the second week of Myler & Ratchford playing together and with the training they have had in preparation I think they will work well. I'm more concerned we don't loose it in the forwards with the loss of Morley & Westwood. Think Saturday will be a game of calm heads and playing disciplined. Still think we will win though

| Yeah I suppose that will benefit them both and yeah I agree that Moz and Westwood will be a huge loss on Saturday. Hope you're right and we come away with the 2 points, would be massive for us to go to Hull twice in the space of 8 days and come away from both games with something.

To be fair, on this occasion, a very good point has been highlighted. We appear to have all of a sudden gone from being a squad with loads of depth and struggling to give all our players a game to a situation where through releasing players to swinton for the season, sending others out on loan, a few injuries and a suspension we are almost struggling to name a 19 for this weekend.
The SL clubs have alot to answer for from their incredibly short-sighted decision not to agree to an u23s competition as advised by the RFL.
Hopefully common sense and forward planning will return in 2014.

| We could always loan players under contract at Swinton.
Perhaps that is even a condition of their contracts.

Any idea who this six are, as against the 5 loan players?
