With his Hamstring / Thigh heavily strapped - hope its just a dead leg - was awesome for the 1st 20-25mins

Monaghans kicking game is still awful; we need Briers on for tactical kicking.

Once he's rediscovered that part of his game, you will have a point.

Did he ever kick the ball much when he was in the NRL?

Liked the look of gleeson in the halves but agree with mark m mono s and gleece just dont have a great kicking game have to wait and see hope i am wrong

Agreed that Monnas needs to work on his tactical kicking but he was starting to boss the game before he went off,Briers isn't the answer he changes the defensive strucrure of the team he is poor in defence and always looks for the big interception or cut out tackle the problem is he is poor at both and leaves gaping holes behind him and if he is to fit into the team he needs to change the defensive side of his game completly .
Personally I would bring in Bridge and give him a chance in the halves he hasn't been a favorite of mine but his performances in the reserves mean he should be given a chance he could also take over the kicking off hicks as he has been really poor this season and should be left to concentrate on being a winger.
Briers and Clarke(he has to be the worst hooker in SL but that's another thread ) should be sent to Barrow or Widnes on loan until we can get rid completely they are our weak links IMO .
Briers needs to learn there is no I in TEAM .
The rest of the TEAM were fantastic today Cooper stood out for me and Harrison had his best game this season imo,King also did what he said and let his rugby do the talking hats off to him it took balls to apologize like he did and that alone earned my respect .

I thought Gleeson offered nothing as half back tbh. The team looked much better with Briers in the halves and Gleeson back in the centres.

Briers' attacking kicking was excellent but neither halfback provided much in the way of tactical kicking, that being one of the negatives of the performance. Fortunately, our forwards stood up and battered theirs.

it was quite clearly a ploy by Tony sith to calm things down...... before briers came on the ball was simply picked up by Higham and given to Monaghan.... Gleeson was never "playing" stand off at all during that game.

Briers' kicking led to a couple of tries. Agree that he failed to turn their defence around but his kicking from hand is in a different league than anyone else in our side.

Monas had a stormer today until getting injured.

Proves to me that he plays better without Briers.

You must have been bird watching again just cause he never touched the ball many times how many tackles did he miss and how many orders did he give rugby is alot more than just touching the ball

Briers is a poor player, i have said on many occasions that the team play around Briers, last tackle, kicking game, advice and instructions everyone used to go to Briers, we looked at Briers to make our try scoring opportunities and Monaghan never got a sniff so to speak.

You seen the best of Monas in a game last year when Briers didn't play and i was saying Monaghan is pushed into the background because of Briers and he just looks ordinary or even poor on occasions, try playing Monaghan without Briers and you will see the best of him.

Today Monas played in the 1st half without Briers and even you should admit he had his best game for us, created opportunity's and even scored a try.

So im sticking with the opinion that in order to get the best out of Monaghan we need to drop Briers.

Looks like you have gone full time, LWF has a fair point we played better as a team when Briers was off the pitch ,We scored more points and conceded less points when he was on the bench.
