This is very sad news to hear, Mike Kelly was one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet. He coached us at Laportes for a couple of seasons, both Mike and Peter made playing and training really enjoyable, well apart from the bleep test which you introduced us too Mike lol. Thats how good a coach Mike was, he introduced us to modern methods as the bleep test was a new thing back then, he improved all our fitness levels which made us enjoy the game a lot more.

My thoughts go out to Mike and to all of his family and friends.

‎"I am truly shocked and deeply saddened"! Mike Kelly was a true friend and an absolute gentleman both on and off the pitch. I was fortunate enough to play for a number of teams that Mike coached and remained friends when we both hung up our boots, (yes Mike used to pull his on now and again at Laport and was fitter than anyone else on the pitch). I thouroughly enjoyed every second i spent with him, both as a player and as a friend and will remain forever indebted to him for that.The world has lost someone very, very special today, my family and i are struggling to come to terms with this sad news. RIP Mike..... Your mate Baldrick!!!
