| with the big town that warrington is its a shock the lack of support the football team get, town are playing tomorow night in the f.a cup 2nd qualifying round against bamber bridge and will be a good day a barmy army of around 30 per game go each game plus around an additional average of around 180 per game then next home game is tuesday the 12th against witton albion try and support the local footie team too.

In all honesty Warrington is a rugby town so I don't see it as a shock. But good luck to them!

I'd say Warrington was a football town. It's just that most support United and Liverpool rather than Warrington Town.

| Might have a wee venture to Garforth next week then.

| As a lifelong Warrington Wolves supporter and Liverpool FC fan I got bitten by the Warrington Town bug just over three years ago and I am now CEO for my pains!
My reason for getting involved is that it is frankly embarrassing that Warrington is the largest town in the country not to have a football league team.
I am passionate about the town where I live and work and want to see as much success as possible for local businesses, local people, local sports teams, whether it be football, handball, netball, cricket, swimming, tennis and rugby (both codes).
If we had a national tiddly winks champion it would be something to boast about.
A successful football team would provide a massive boost to the local economy, whether it be the local chippy local pubs, hotels, the shopping centre, the bus company e.t.c.
The club was in the doldrums three years ago and nearly went out of business - but a consortium of local business people have taken it over, cleared the debt and with growing support are now starting to invest in the team - which is so far unbeaten and still in the F.A Cup and mounting a serious challenge for promotion.
If you are passionate about your town and sport, it won't take you long to get passionate about the football.
Just ask the young members of the barmy army who follow both codes.
They are a credit to the rugby club and the football club with their enthusiasm and support - they even rolled up their sleeves and helped get the ground ready for the start of the season.
I know there are plenty of distractions out there but if more people get behind the team, sooner rather than later, real success could be just around the corner.
Try and come along and sample the atmosphere under the floodlights tonight as we attempt to progress in the FA Cup.
Kids under 12 are FREE and 16 and under only £2, concessions £4 and adults £7. We also have a well stocked bar and a new canteen selling lovely pie and peas!
Hope to see a few of you down there at 7.45pm tonight.

50086_1357229109.jpg [b:33tg3xj5]Me:[/b:33tg3xj5] I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
[b:33tg3xj5]knockersbumpMKII:[/b:33tg3xj5] Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_50086.jpg |

| I don't live in the town anymore but if I did, I wouldn't pay £7 to watch amateur (or close to it) football. I accept that this is quite an ignorant point of view having never seen it but that is my view. Fair play to everyone who is involved and good luck for the rest of the season.

Thats about the normal price these days for non league football. Some teams charge a bit more. Then once you get to BSP then your looking about the same as going to a super league game.

| we've just gone 12 games unbeaten and are doing well. In my opinion its a great way to spend 7 quid, just a shame we don't get more people down to support the town. UP THE TOWN!!!!!!
next home game: Saturday 9th October, 3pm kick off, F.A. cup 3rd qualifying round
get down and show your support

| I neither would spend £7 to watch a game of amateur football, but good luck in the future to Town.
