The growth rate of viewing figures for Women’s Football has turned heads at sky headquarters, so much so that Rugby League looks set to be dropped altogether by Skysports to make room for more screen time for live women’s games.
Serious discussions are underway at RFL headquarters to work out who or what could fill the financial void Rugby League would find itself in.

But haven't sky just agreed a new contract with the RL ?

Don’t see why it should happen, they are losing more and more of the premier league to streaming sites so would say they filling those gaps with the womens footy.

A wind up, surely.
Why on earth would Sky drop RL, when they have "Main Event" (even though RL is rarely on it), "Action", "Arena" and "Mix" as non dedicated sport channels, all of which run for 24 hours. What on earth are they going to fill their air time with?

There's bound to be a "growth" of viewing figures for women's football, as there was precious little of it on Sky, before.
