The sports a laughing stock unfortunately are we surprised the RFL and ALL of the teams have managed the covid situation so poorly? No wonder sky are getting fed up. Dross getting served up on the pitch and off it.

I blame the cap....

We cannot afford to build squads good enough to cover 7 players missing,. The clubs probably could field a team but not they feel would win it makes sense to postpone the game.

You cannot blame the rfl for clubs inability to ensure their players are sticking to the protocols. Not had this problem in NRL where if one person in the state gets covid they go into full lock down and bring in the military to enforce it.

Why can’t we blame the RFL? they’re just as much to blame as the clubs, if neither can put a plan into place to protect the games and the integrity of the sport what chance does it have? Sky are already sick to death of the product. It’s poor.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic here, or whether you are actually condoning such a draconian government response as the Aussies are enforcing?

Not sure what the RFL or the clubs can do about it, they follow government protocols, as presumably do the players as there are no restrictions on player movements now. The sport can’t afford to put in to place the NRL processes around bio security and why should the players have to?

Things will be easier in a few weeks when close contacts don’t have to isolate (assuming they have been double vaccinated).

If they increased the cap who could spend it? Maybe us and Leeds?

Shame I was looking forward to this. As long as we can get to 18 games played. A bit of a fixture backlog building up.

Really pi$$ed off. Was looking forward to a Sunday afternoon fixture for the first time in close on 2 years.
I really don’t think it has anything to do with Covid. Just a convenient excuse. You’ll find it’s 2 positive tests and lo and behold a number of close contacts.
Hull just didn’t fancy it, like Saints didn’t fancy it after the cup final preferring a pi$$ up and rest and we didn’t fancy it after having to let a number of players out on loan to facilitate George Williams signing. We’d never missed a game citing covid up to then.
Don’t know about Sky getting fed up, the fans including myself are getting fed up. I’ve supported this club since 6 years old (48 years) and I’ve had enough. The game itself is boring and the product dross.
This sport is definitely in trouble with these guys we have running it from the RFL and Super League.

Is the system not open for abuse by each individual club though? Who is there to clarify these close contacts of the positive players?

Can’t help but think there’s far too much leeway and if a club has enough key man out through a positive test, then what’s stopping them using it to their advantage and calling the game off?

This system that has been adopted in Super League rewards teams for not playing and it’s far too easy and convenient for a team to not play, rather than play and lose.

Any integrity and credibility is out the window.

How on earth can one advocate still holding Magic Weekend, especially in it’s current form too?

You’ve literally got teams playing each other three times, while other clubs have barely played each other once due to postponements.

Given the uncertainty on teams being able to fulfil fixtures moving forward, Magic Weekend should either be scrapped and have it as a catch up weekend, or at least have the fixtures tweaked to try and balance the fixtures out slightly.

Just shows what Sky thinks of League apart from being a stocking filler.
They don’t even have the Union in the normal season but have dedicated a channel to the Lions for the past 4 weeks.
Currently watching the third test and I can confirm that if the Saints/Dragons game was boring I don’t know how you’d describe the last 3 Saturday evenings.
God South Africa are a boring Rugby Union side.
