| Well apparently Hull FC have 5 players and 2 staff that have tested positive for Covid. The players will have to quarantine for 10 days and Hull and Salford have cancelled their training sessions on Wednesday because of it.
I wonder if both teams will have to sit This round out to be on the safe side?

| If there are more positives this week the whole weekend Fixture list and possibly season will be cancelled.

| Not wanting to go in to hard when not knowing the actual details however is anyone actually surprised some Rugby League players have fook3d it? They might be great athletes but you can question the professionalism of many, many players in Super League.

| Difficult without knowing all the facts , but if none of the Salford players or match officials test positive it would suggest it happened
outside the match day bubble , got to feel sorry for the fans , team has folded like a pack of cards when going behind on more than one
occasion , it's all about honesty really , interesting few days ahead .

| We don't know how the virus entered the Hull FC 'bubble' but with 5 players testing positive it would suggest that, once in there, it has spread quite quickly. It will be interesting to see whether;
The 5 positive tests were all from within the same group at Hull (I believe that the players are seperated into small training groups)
Whether it has spread to Salford
If it has spread to Salford then that really could have serious implications for the remainder of the season.

So no positive test results but 11 Salford players need to self isolate for 14 days. I had thought initially that if Salford players tested negative on say Thursday this week that would be enough for Salford to be able to play at the weekend. Obviously the concern is the virus may take longer to show up in tests than that I guess.
Fortunately Salford dont have a game in week 2 of their self isolation as its challenge cup weekend, but in normal circumstances they would miss two fixtures. I think there needs to be a large amount of flexibility with fixtures going forward, i.e. if team A are self isolating then their planned opponents (Team B) should be able to play a game vs Team C who they missed earlier on in the year due to similar circumstances OR the team who has a bye that week due to Toronto
So for example this week Salford were due to play Catalan and Hull KR have a bye week due to Toronto. Can Catalan not play Hull KR this week to reduce fixture congestion further down the line? EDIT: Or Castleford of course, who were due to play Hull FC

| It just makes our whole competition look amateurish. When you compare it to the NRL, football and cricket etc, these athletes have been told to live in a 'bubble'. Why the hell hasn't that been the case in SL? You go on Instagram over the weekend and you see from players stories that Hull players are in a payers garden all having a drink together, it makes a mockery of the competition. Hasn't Jofra Archer been banned for breaking quarantine rules by simply nipping to his flat and not being in contact with anyone? You see Pangai at the Broncos potentially facing the sack for going for a haircut. In the Premier League they were carrying out over a 1000 tests per week for 8 weeks and I don't think there were more than 5 positive tests. In my opinion, players are just putting theirs and other livelihoods at risk over a drink with their mates. It's not just Hull by the way, Blake Austin went to Anfield when Liverpool were lifting the trophy, the Wigan lads have been out in Manchester etc but when you hear Tom Lineham come out with these conspiracy theories and his love for Johnson and Trump you kind of half expect something like this to happen given most RL players are not the sharpest tools in the shed.

Are you suggesting that squads and their entourage be imprisoned together for the length of the season and to be isolated from their families for that time?
If not, then I can't see how anyone can be 100% risk free from catching the virus?

| Looks like there will be a rehash of this weekends fixtures but our game may be unaffected (in terms of opposition). Total RL saying that Cas may face St Helens with Wakefield against Catalan. All kick off times subject to change.

Austin was made to sit out training as a result of his indiscretion, I don't know if he was fined. I believe in the NRL you are forced to quarantine for 14 days for any breach - so the punishments are more severe. Pangai I think has been stood down indefinitely for multiple breaches of restrictions, rather than a one off visit to a barbers. I agree any players breaking COVID restrictions need to be stood down and fined, but meeting in a garden for a few beers or having a beer outside a bar is not breaking guidelines. In Australia I think the state governments have put in stricter measures than the UK and travel between states for example is banned (hence the need for a player bubble).
I have no idea what the rules are for Premier League players set by the League or the Clubs, do they have to follow stricter measures than the government?
Australia is different to the UK, I believe interstate travel is banned so bubbles of players had to be set up. No such restrictions exist in the UK, I can't see it as possible for players to isolate from their families for the next 3 months and I'm not sure the clubs could afford it either way.

I'm saying that the protocols in place need to be much tougher and yes players need to make more sacrifices or risk losing their livelihoods.
If the procedures under which SL has restarted allow players (and other members of their households, to go out shopping, and go on the lash with their mates to pubs then we were doomed from the start).

Have you seen what the nba has done? its moved 22 teams to Disney world/land in florida, without families in order for them to finish their season in fully enclosed bubble.

I don't think SL clubs could afford to pay their players to stay in Camelot, nevermind anywhere else!

I presume you're suggesting the same would apply to anybody in employment?
Why should Super league players, many of whom are not well paid, make multiple more times sacrifices in respect to Covid as the rest of society.
I doubt you have any idea about the restrictions that are in place anyway. The fact no positive tests for Salford players suggests that the RFL's precautions worked well in preventing spread beyond the Hull bubble.
