| So I was pondering who my favourite signing was from each club was. For some reason I started with Wakefield and that is surprisingly difficult, my immediate thought was B Westwood, but Ryan Atkins contributed a huge amount and what about Nathan Wood? So it’s a work in progress but should give you something to think about. Only rules are has to be from a professional team (not an amateur club) and you have to have seen them play.

| I'll throw a few in
Widnes - Jiffy
Sheffield - Bruce McGuire
Bradford - Ken Kelly/John Woods
Leigh - Des Drummond (ok via Australia, but that shouldn't count)

| Wigan - Jack Hughes (very few good players have come directly from Wigan)
Castleford - Daryl Clark
Huddersfield - Brett Hodgson
Hull FC - I'm going with Gareth Carvell
Wakefield - I'll go with Westwood
St Helens - Briers
Salford - Ratchford
Leigh - Des Drummond
London - John Clarke
Widnes - Davies
Bradford - a few there but I'll say Chris Bridge
Halifax - Simon Grix

Agree with all of those except Bradford and Wigan. Not that I didn't like Bridge, he was great for us but Solomon was a player i think was brilliant for us he added so much to our team off the bench. I wish we had signed him earlier.in his career. Didn't we get Hughes from Huddersfield? Or was he just on loan with them the season before he signed for us? I'd go with Higham from Wigan.

| My first thought for Bradford was Solomona but Bridge just pipped it for me due to the length of service.
Hughes was on loan at Huddersfield (he seems to have had several loan periods at various clubs). I had completely forgotten about Higham.

| At the risk of breaking the internet, I would take Chris Hill instead of Drummond from Leigh.

It’ll take both Drummond and Hill and raise you Murphy, Chisnall and Martyn.

| Can't argue with that!
How about NRL clubs:
Brisbane: Langer
Manly: M Monaghan (lots of good Wire signings have come from the Sea Eagles: Hicks, Boyd, Blake, Fulton)
Canberra: J Monaghan
Canterbury: Mackey
Melbourne: King
Newcastle: Andrew Johns! (or Kurt Gidley, if we discount players who only played 3 games for us)
NZ Warriors: Fa'afili
Sydney Roosters: Morley (although really this should be Brian Bevan who played for the Roosters reserves)
S Queensland Crushers: Nutley
Penrith: Domic (ahead of Waterhouse....controversial)

Based on results I would go Murphy 1st, Hill pipping Des for second.
Bradford for me is a difficult one. I never warmed to Bridge. Didn’t we sign both J Wood and K Kelly from there?

| I (and I venture a few others may go for) Keith Holden as Wigan's. Those damned Swinton potholes

Holden and Mark Roberts are up there as 2 of our biggest 'what if's' from our history...
.. Thinking about that we could have an all new category of great talents tragically struck down by injury - I'll throw in John Dalgreen as another with Holden and Roberts.

| New thread needed for that.
Or perhaps tag it on to the Currie thread.

A very shrewd £5k purchase, and as you say that pesky rabbit warren at Swinton.
