How much will it cost us to get Widdop over for this season then? Feel bad for KB, but would we be able to dis-count his place on the cap and squeeze Widdop in somehow. We certainly need another half back even with Patton backstage...

Unless St George could sign an adequate replacement I can’t see them entertaining the idea of letting him go this season. They’ll be spending this year looking to recruit his replacement for 2020

Wondered why someone else was collecting his no 7 shirt in the photo from the season launch dinner. Very sad if this is true and leaves a hole at half back. Perhaps Ratchford can move up to 6 with Mamo at full back. We don't have another SL quality half back.

Unfortunately Ratchford at half back weakens the threat slightly from that position, but even worse denigrates the passing threat from fullback where Ratchford was supreme last season. Mamo is great in some respects especially his pace, but doesn’t have Ratchfords fantastic vision (based on what we’ve seen from him at Hudds).

We really need to sign a little general classic half back ASAP. Where we can find one is another matter...

I found his absence from the shirt presentation a bit suspect, but if that was actually from before Sunday’s game then that’s obviously a better sign... let’s hope it’s just all rumour and no substance.
