Bang goes another one. Continuing in the fine tradition of Warrington Wolves youth talent conveyor belt to the exit door. Hulse, Durbin, O'Brien, Dwyer,...
I sincerely wish him all the very best.

I am sure we signed him from Leeds. Sad to see him go, but we have enough cover for the position(s) he plays

He signed his first professional contract with us so we are obviously responsible for his progression. To suggest otherwise would be like crediting Wigan for developing Currie - just plain daft.

| Get with the plan PY, Wigan have developed every player to pull on the P&B shirt through their academy since 1895.

| It was good news for Wire that Darryl Clark stayed fit throughout the year. If he'd have missed a more games Morgan Smith would have been able to show what he could do. Towards the end of the 2017 season he had several good spells. Good luck to him.

| When Brad Dwyer left last year I would have thought he would have taken his place. But Price had different ideas.

I'm with you Smiffy, always thought he was decent enough, a snappy passer and for a small guy, not bad in the tackle, (ooh matron) (I had a Kenneth Williams moment there) and hope he still makes a go of it.

| Well if you were going to bring in a youngster from outside your local area with the best chance of making him a SL player, it would have to be Morgan Smith. He played England U16's in 2012,13,14 then England Academy 2015, 16. At youth level he was the male version of Pandora with good ball handling skills and a good kicking game. And of course he played halfback, a position where the English genetic line seems to have died out some years ago. I am not sure exactly what wen't wrong but my guess is that he might have received intensive training at an early age (grandad played for Fev.) and reached his potential at 17/18. At Academy level for Wire he was never a prolific try scorer and you expect kids that go on to the first team to excel at this level (Joe Philbin at prop was scoring 18 tries in consecutive seasons with only Jack Johnson playing wing / FB outscoring him). Either way it's a big disappointment.

| How come he ended up as a hooker? Wasn't he supposed to be a top prospect 6 or 7 when he arrived?
If he is going to specialise as a hooker and he is a real talent then it makes sense for him to go and seek opportunities to make starts in SL at London, Warrington wouldn't be a good option for a young upcoming hooker talent right now with Clark and Walker ahead of them.
I guess we will see over the next few years how good he is so good luck to him.

| Steve Price has not ruled out the prospect of more new faces arriving. With Morgan Smith going, I can see a signing in the next couple of weeks. ....Kyle Amor is still available.

I'd take him. It would be like a reverse when Saints took Forzard.
I've said all the last 1/4 of Saints season that not playing Amor left a weak pack and they'd come unstuck. They rely too heavily on Warmsley (inj).
