I know we still have the Grand Final to concentrate on, but with us only having announced what's happening with 3 out of the 10 players that are off contract at the end of this season (B Evans, Wheeler & Laithwaite), I'm interested to know everyone's thoughts on the following are : Philbin, Patton, J Johnson, Julien, Cox, Bailey & Dodds ?

And with plenty of rumours flying about that Atkins is going a year early, the club seems to be very quiet about what's going on.

Announcements are pending after next Saturday, but what will they be ???

If your list above is correct I'd be signing Patton up on a five year deal this afternoon without hesitation. The way he's played for us in the last couple of weeks he'd walk into any SL starting 13!

Don't think we are getting ahead of ourselves. If Sandow and Gidley were both fit, I doubt there are many would pick Patton. Having had Maguire, Burrow, Sinfield for over ten years, Leeds had forgotten what it is like to blood youngsters until they've had to do it with Lilley and Sutcliffe.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Morgan smith Get Dwyers Shirt next year .
In fact I would be suprised If Dwyer is still here next year .

Patton, Johnson and jullien for certain, I would keep dodds and Bailey subject to medical condition. Philbin is worth another year to see how he gets on but he would probably be better off with more game time elsewhere next year really, maybe a loan? I'm not sold on Cox really, he has done a job for us but we need our cover to be available.

Same. Philbin doesn't look big enough to me to play prop.

The silverware and season we have had means we can do better than the likes of Cox and Bailey too, no disrespect to them but they are not Top 4 quality now. It's not as if we are Super league also rans like 10 years ago where we would struggle to recruit from the NRL or top British talent.

Let's put this into perspective Saints have just signed a very good, consistent NRL forward who holds the record for consecutive appearances to bolster their already strong pack - and we are discussing whether we retain Cox...

Philbin and Johnson I would give another year plus a club 1 year extension option. I don't think Johnson has been on the field sufficiently to either develop or make a judgement on his potential. Philbin has been ok but not come on as much as I was hoping.

Julien straight 3yr contract for me. He is still raw but looks a really good prospect with a bit of speed and good defence. He is also very hungry. I think he will be a future 1st 13 man in a few years.

Cox and Bailey seemed to be a bit of last minute padding of the squad. You know, when you fill the boot up to go on holiday but you have a little bit of space left near the spare wheel so you can just squeeze in ...... Cox I would release. Two 100mph charges followed by concussion doesn't really help the squad over the whole season. Bailey has been quite useful, especially in defence, but he is already looking quite slow and injury prone and is no spring chicken. Then again, he probably only costs peanuts so I am not bothered either way.

Patton for me is right on the 'breakthrough borderline'. With tuition from Gidley and game time he could kick on to become our first pick half for 2018. There again he may do a GOB and stay at this level. Two year contract.

Philbin looks exactly like alex walmsley, but a foot shorter.

He's filling in at the moment, he's much better as a bulky second row running out wide, thats where his best performances have been for me.

I would release him but he definitely needs a full time loan somewhere, like ben evans did at the bulls.

I quite like Dwyer. But it sounds like he's been a very naughty boy & upset Tony
