| The honeymoon period is now well and truly over and its team to address the first quarter of the season performance of Sims and Clark.
SIMS.
His chiseled face and golden locks might be melting the hearts of the ladies and one or two blokes.
Yet his pre-season hype is a damp squid.
He looks nothing more than an average 2nd rower who is trying his hand in the front row because there is less competition in that position to get a game.
He is about a stone underweight.
CLARK.
Disappointed Wire fans pre-season by not showing any empathy to us.
He is hands down a much better player than Higham, but Higham has a Wire heart on his sleeve. Still no indication of that from Clark.

| I know it's been said before, but Clark is here for the paycheck, he would rather have stayed with Cas. His obvious talent will see him through most games, but I seriously doubt he will ever become a Wire legend. (Happy to be proved wrong on this mind).

| Sims is not setting the HJ alight but is doing what he was signed to do, he put some good hits in with a few Hudds players asking who was that, plus one or two deft offloads, one or two not needed, Clark's style looks to be being slowly modified by TS into a more creative style to suite the team rather than be an individual, so as yet we are not seeing the Clark we want to with his pick up and run style but he still has it hopefully one day our Mona's with legs.
I was disappointed with the whole team last night more with the so called experienced, established players and didn't enjoy one second of the game.

| Clark views the HJ as a stopping off point on his way to the NRL, but he'd better buck is ideas up if he wants to impress anybody in the Antipodes. In the pre-arrival of Sims he was said to be 6'4" and 19 stones...Has he had some terrible wasting disease since ?

| Clark will come good, very good! He's too good to not click in to gear at some point.
I remember there being a lot of hype about him when he first broke in at Cas but it took him a couple if years to really set the place alight. He's the new kid on the block at Wire and will just need to build that confidence to start testing the line more.

Who the said he was 19 stone? Paleaseena was barely 19 stone when he was at Wigan?

| Well I read in Tuesdays Daily Mail that Simms was originally 6' 8''. Apparently he had 8 pieces of his vertebrae deliberately removed because Wire would only pay him £180k instead of the £250k he wanted.

Good stuff, duckie
Sims drove it in hard, in those early minutes against Salford. Didn't get riled (too much) by Patterson, and I thought it's a decent enough debut. Since then, I've not been so impressed. Duckie's summed it up PERFECTLY with his last 2 sentences with his Sims critique. If he doesn't buck his ideas up, he'll be heading down the Steve Roach "pinching money, on a big reputation" route.
Clark looks, just ordinary. That's it. Nowt special, Just a "common or garden" hooker. I've not been so disappointed since I read/heard the reviews for Skyfall (most recent James Bond film), saw it, and thought "well, that's a couple of hours of my life I'll never get back".
The Aussie clubs have previously signed British players on reputation/dodgy stats.......Ian Sibbitt, anyone? On current viewing, Clark's not even on their radar

| I can't believe that people are doubting Clark's ability as a footballer. He is incredibly talented and in my opinion, currently badly coached by Agar who seemingly wants him to play more conservatively. Steve McNamara gave him his usual freedom during the four nations and he was absolutely unplayable. Let's not forget that the lad is still very young and has a long career ahead of him.
