I will be amazed if it exists in its current format more than a few weeks.. if it DOES, expect a few sponsors on the back of their shirts.

I ranted on the VT, 5h1t3 in a nutshell.

I like the idea of them controlling the replays, camera angles themselves rather than needing to relay instructions to someone, and it taking longer. On Premier Sports you always heard "Have we got a better angle?", "slow this right down, pause it there"

With more practice they will get better at controlling the screen, and I'm sure Sky will show them on screen less once they've put over the new innovation.

loved the fact that when they announced the decision they explained why, can't wait for one of the controversial ones to happen. All the ones last night were pretty straight forward.

Actually showing Smith and Ganson operating (badly) the controls was cringe-worthy however when they shot the line out across the pitch (ala football for off-side decisions) to check on-side for the kick it was a good additional use of the technology (although they failed to use it after that for similar decisions).


Apparently they showed the tv pictures on the big screen at the ground and consequently it was impossible to actually see the pictures of the action.

came into force due to Ganson messing up in the Hull derby at the Magic Weekend. Think its a good idea if they practice it a bit more.

if they just show the screen and what they are seeing then its a gd improement. why do we have to see them controlling the screen? its pointless.

I imagine we will see it less after the first new rounds, it is just a novelty to get people talking at the minute. I liked it and think it will really speed things up once they get used to it last night they looked like two blokes on a pub quiz machine.

To make it look as though there is nothing un-toward with regards to the decision they make, but make no mistake it can and will be manipulated as the season goes on. As someone posted earlier lets wait and see when there is a close call to make and whether or not we hear there discussion pending the verdict.

I liked it. It would help if they explained what they are looking at. More educated fans can see what they are looking at, but it would help with a run through and explanation for new viewers maybe.

Maybe if the whole communication was broadcasted to the crowd too, ie the refs request of what to check and the video refs step by step.

I liked the 48" plasma.

Wouldn't chance it un-padlocked when in St Helens or Salford though.

I think it is just so Ganson can get himself back on the TV.

Ye it's a step forward from last year, just needs fine tuning a bit. Could the new 'on-side line' be used for forward passes aswell?
