| I've not posted in a while but felt compelled to following yesterday's game. It is the first time I have actually been bored watching the Wire.
Don't get me wrong I am happy we won and not moaning. There was something about the lack intensity on the field married with the very flat feeling in the stadium and low away support that caused me to feel this way.
I think this was because the result was never in doubt, and even if it was, the game is pretty meaningless if we are aiming for a top 4 finish only. It felt like going through the motions and sport should not feel that way in my opinion.
So basically it could be the league format and the lack of competitiveness of lower sides.
I'm interested if anyone else felt the same.

| The game has become formulated, sanitised and over-coached and yes, it has become very boring that's why this is my last season having supported the Wire for over half a century. Passion has left the game.

| The format of SL is rubbish. How a team from 5th can be crowned champions. If you win the weekly rounds then without doubt you are the champions. The SL trophy can still be played out but as an extra competition to the Challenge cup. I hate the format and often feel cheated when paying for 4 season tickets and players are rested for upcoming games. Don't get me wrong it worked for us last year for the Challenge cup but had we played a full strength team v Salford & Broncos we could have had the possibility of all three bits of silver last year. I know "if ifs and buts were beer & nuts we would all have s happy Christmas" but who knows?

| I agree with Wires 71. It was like playing Keighley in the 4th Round of the Challenge Cup. However, I think it has been like this for the last couple of years. 2011 was different because we were so obviously going for the League Leader's Shield. Last year we managed the season tactically and were very close to winning everything; I imagine we will end up with a similar season ths year - top 2 in the league, maybe 3rd or 4th if we have a bad run. Then the cup comes down to one or two matches on the day - if we are away to Leeds in three weeks time or home to St Helens, then that dream could end very quickly. If we end up with a near full squad at the play offs, then we only need to win 2 games to make it to the GF.
And yet, and yet... is this not better than the hell of 2002 or the surprise wins against the big teams of 2005, 2006, 2007 with silly losses against Wakefield and Salford? I go into important games and games against our title rivals expecting to win. The matches are great and of a high standard.
But yes I was bored yesterday.

| Glad others are saying this. We felt the same way. All felt pointless and perfunctory not helped by the team only sporadically sparking into life.
I am enjoying amateur junior and youth games more at the minute.

| totally agree,my 9 year old son said he didn't want to go as in his words
"it's a nothing game and there will be no atmosphere"
i have watched warrington for 35 years in all kinds of weather but yesterday i too felt bored, myself and a mate were stood under the north stand just after half time and you would not have known a game was being played, for a few seconds it was total silence,we decided to go at that point.

1883.jpg Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

| There is an inevitably about all this. The lack of reward for topping the League has been the catalyst for this moribund feeling.
How quickly did the disappointment subside post-Wides, when the realisation that it didn't really matter kicked in. Top four is pretty much a given, so, ho-hum.
Until such time SL give a genuine reason to try and finish top, be it prize money or a bye straight into the semi-final playoffs (my preferred option), be prepared for more of the same.

| Certain rules and coaching that produce identi-kit players with no personality, sending off for biff, half backs with less skill than previous generations, no shoulder charges.
No promotion/relegation, Sky changing fixtures at will, bandwagoners and their silence.
Give me time i could add to that list.

| You're obviously far too good nowadays and too used to success. You should offload your best players to the Bulls to even things up
I'm not sure what you do to end the spate of "nothing games". Reducing the numbers in the play offs will mean more games involving clubs outside the play offs will be lacklustre. You could bring back relegation but that opens another can of worms. As I remember "nothing matches" occurred pre SL and will always occur, you just need to keep them at a minimum.
The game is a lot more sanitised than it was, this does make it less interesting IMO. There was a paltry bit of handbags in the Leeds vs Bradford game on Thursday yet it added some spice to an already decent game. Bring back the biff.

| Ive been saying this for sometime and get blasted for doing so.
Superleague is a sham and the regular rounds are largely pointless to a degree.
2/3 teams are not competitive in any shape or form.
The only games worth seeing are those involving wire, leeds, saints and wigan. The rest are nothing games with very little atmosphere.
Blame the authorities and blame sky. The game is dying a slow death.
On that note, happy April everyone!!

| Its not just our games though.... im struggling to enjoy games right across the board. I used to love nothing more than sitting down on a bank holiday weekend knowing i could watch 3/4 games on TV and watch a few live.
I tried to watch every game this weekend but i ended up doing something else in every game before HT.
As i sit here typing these, Offiah is on talksport saying this is the most entertaining SL season for many a year.... maybe im living in a Parallel universe.
