Hi all a work colleague of mine has decided to have his stag weekend in Warrington and has asked me for advice, although I am a season ticket holder in the north stand I don't know much about night life in the town (but I do know Bridge Street can get a bit like a war zone at the weekend), so if I could get any advice on how a bunch of lads could have a weekend to remember in Wireland it would be much appreciated.Anything from where to stay to decent night clubs would be welcome ( is Mr Smiths still any good now ?) and where to avoid. Thanks in advance. icon_biggrin.gifRUNK:

Depends what you're after in terms of clubs, Friars (the 'home of indie' as they like to call themselves, admitedly quite cringeworthy) and Level (cheap as chips but always jam packed) are the best two places imo.

It's not too far to Leeds either.

Yeah I agree with Latchford Bob Avoid Warrington Town Centre at all costs!!
Liverpool is agreat night out Matthew street comes alive at night, also some great pubs in and around lime street station for Saturday afternoon thats if you are going on a Saturday.
Also you will be spoilt for somewhere to get your head down for the evening, some great hotels to choose from either in the city centre or outside of Liverpool.

Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union. www.squadbuilder.co.uk:1883.jpg

As you get in to Warrington, head to Central Station and get on a train to Liverpool or Manchester. That is my advice.

No it isn't but depends on your age! Best drinking in the pubs up Church St or going a bit further up the road to Stockton Heath.

It isn't exactly terrible, but the fact you have two far better places that are a twenty minute train journey away, makes the decision for you.

I'm sorting out my brother's stag atm and we're ending up in Warrington, but we're doing it after 2 days heavy drinking in Manchester to watch a Wire game, then heading back to London. It seems a bit tame to spend a whole stage in such a small town!

The whole thing is just a mess You're fired:42235.jpg

saw the title of this thread and thought it must be a wind-up. Seriously mate, forget Warrington for a stag night. If he really wants to stay here then at least get him/them on an early train to liverpool. The city centre's small enough to get round with loads of choice of bars and clubs far more used to welcoming groups after a good time/laugh etc. Last train back is at 11:40pm but you're best getting the 1st ones back starting at 5:45am as the clubs are still open til 8-9am.

Sir Alan has it spot on.
My suggestion
Use Warrington as a meeting point, maybe Wilkies or the Rodney, and have a couple
Get on the train to L/pool
A few pints
Pen'n'wig
a few more pints, ending up in Flanagan's Apple, and a cab home

few nob ends met, and a good night had by all

contrast this, with a night round Warrington...
s with the attitude "you looking at me/my bird?"

Stay away from the town centre of Warrington

It's not just the trouble aspect of Warrington town centre that make it a bad choice. I've been out in town a few times of the last couple of years and it has been completely dead. Hardly the recipe for a good night out to remember which is the idea of a stag night.

Warrington is probably the second worst place for a night out after St Helens. I'd suggest going to Manchester to be honest, it's a very good night out. Stag party's usually end up naked in Canal Street at some point during the night.

Never get too cocky [quote="Beeston_Loiner":1v23w920]I'll go for Warrington are SH1T3! and Leeds are gonna make 'em look silly like we do to all the Pretenders in Finals..... 64th Minute when the Pressure starts to tell on the Useless TW@! I try to avoid going as much as possible now and i am only 19. Enjoyed it once i turned 18 but the couple of places that i enjoyed are now just packed and full of knobs. Surely ain't the place for a stag night.
